Finished building the sorceress... Now on to the painting! Still time left.

I have the results of the last chamber: You are a horrible person.
That's what it says: A horrible person...
We weren't even testing for that.

London.

My work here is done!

I finished mine today, I really should have planned out the painting stage because I had three different ideas but couldn't decide which to go with. In the end it ended up being none of them and has suffered for it.

Although I'm not really disappointed with the end result I don't really love it which is a shame because I have loved being part of this and seeing so many other fantastic conversions coming along.
Away on holiday tomorrow so no time to repaint the little dude.

So good luck everyone, hope you all manage to finish in time. I can't wait to see the horde of finished pictures when I get back.
Thanks again to everyone involved in both threads.

@ Rabies: Both great model and a nice moody paintjob. My only criticism would really be the bluegrey hair. I think that is one too many colour.
I love the hunched over and pityful expression of this poor hive creature.

Thats awesome GS'ing Hammer, stunning work on the rat. I do think the cloak/dress could do with a few folds in the fabric though, looks a bit stiff as is.

Also loving that dude, Rabies. The extra claws work really well and i love the checks on the gun holster.

Thanks a lot, it's not nearly so blue in real life but it's one of many touch ups I may do when I start work on the rest of his gang. Close up pics on here aren't kind at all and suddenly you see all the little errors.

It's been a long journey, with a few false starts on the cloak, but with only a couple of days left I'm going to have to leave him like this as I don't have the time to do any more. The cloak has now been repainted 3(?!) times as each incarnation has had something that I don't like about it.

I'm a bit gutted I didn't get to finish the Genestealer hybrid, given that I started him first and caused GiraffeX to have to rethink his entry. Sorry! It's been great fun though and got me over a painting hump I'd been having. Roll on the next competition

Col Hammer, Rabies... stunning work form both of you!

Points up

Me I've been busy on it, I have;
Added her Kimono thingy and some tech stuff, re-did her hair so it's wavey at the back. I'll be making a cliff style base for her tomorrow then
paint and add the mech back into the base and done. Fingers crossed it gets all done in thime.

Holy hell! Great work from across the pond! On the previous page, the Dark Mech is looking fantastic, as is the Tau Shas'O. Col Hammer's entry... damn good sculpting!

@Endtransmission- I have no idea why you'd paint the cloak over 3 times... but that finished mini is looking absolutely bee-yooo-tee-full!

@Rabies- I actually like the gritty paint-job! Gotta agree about the hair, everything seems to fit in but that, but that's a well-put-together figure!

Congrats for those of you who are finished! Good luck to the ones who aren't finished yet! We've got a bit more time on our side... but yea, it's coming down to the wire.

Well. Attempt 1 was looking great until I put on a transfer. The transfer was nicely centred following the cloak's folds down his back... it's just a shame the cloak was lop-sided, which meant that the design wasn't actually centred.

Attempt 2 was multiple layers of weathering powders. Unfortunately it looked... bad.
Attempt 3 is now showing that the outside is made of some mystical stain proof material

LOL... same for me.

Attempt one: Blue skin (actually still in my gallery and about 1-2 pages back on the other PMW blog)... looked cool, but just didn't do it for me.

Attempt two: Tried for a brownish-base that blended up to a bone color... came out with something that was pink going on white. WTF.

Attempt three: Finally got the right, brown shadows going all the way up to a bone-yellow flesh. Score. Too bad some of the detail is a bit more shallow thanks to messing it up two times before...

yeah,
Last WIP photos.
Tomorrow I'll clean up her flash and mould lines and start painting.
Decided that opposed to just sticking a daemonette head on her I'd use the original head.
I reworked the tabards so they looked more natural...

Sadly, I'm afraid I won't be able to finish my Inquisitor in time... Been away for a week, too much work in here, not to mention a complete lack of inspiration for the paint scheme... besides for the base.

Good luck to you all, I'll be following it anyway!

@ Panic- that daemonette is great! The spear's look fits perfectly with the legs- also like the vials coming out of the back!

@ Santobell- Like the base and drone for the rice hat- can we get a close-up of the details?

@ Hammer- I second Vit- that rat is something else!

@ Yggs- Damn man... sorry to hear it. The guy was looking pretty sweet from the WIP pics, but I totally feel you on the lack of scheme/motivation. Had that for a bit with mine as well...

I figured my mini should rear its ugly head here on this forum too- critiques and comments always welcome!

Like I said to Endtransmission, I painted/repainted the skin 3 times over, and the shell 2 times over. That was a total waste of 2 days... Finally semi-pleased with the look now. Body armor and leggings just started, and the red gem portion on his head.

Feathered shell, compound eyes, and the start to mottled skin.

Can't wait to see everyone else's final work and for myself, finish this model!

quick question, and maybe it's already been answered but it doesn't seem to be in the OP-

Which end of the 3rd of September are we talking about? Considering the vast difference in time zones amongst us dakkanauts, there's a pretty big swing there.

Not that I expect to be turning in at the last possible second. Certainly not.

I'm crawling through my painting, hopefully time will allow me to finish it. I am really struggling as for some reason all I can think about when sitting at my desk is the pile of British FoW tanks I want to build.

Must.....finish......entry!
