Well, I converted Marneus Calgar into a Dark Angel.

I also put him up on Coolmini, if anyone cares to vote.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Oh drat. How long has that forum been there? I swear, I've been posting finished projects into this forum for a very long time, so I hope it hasn't been there very long.

*looks over at Showcase forum

Well, it looks like there are only about a hundred threads over there, which means it must have been there for about a week. So I haven't been screwing up all year, just all week.

Sure thing:

The gold I used was 100% layered up. Also, I used P3 paints for it, so I'll list and describe each color. Getting the right colors together is essential for making Gold metallic metals:

-The first step is to mix Bloodstone (a very warm brown) with Meridius Blue (a turquoise color). The blue is what gives the metals that worn look. If you'd like fresher metals, you can start out with bloodstone.

Highlight with Bloodstone, and then start layering up by mixing more and more Moldy Ocre (a yellow color) into the Bloodstone. You can highlight all the way to Moldy Ocre, or you can only go halfway there (depending on how yellow you want your golds to be).

The final highlights are added by adding in Morrow White (pure white) into the mix. It is best if you can get your last couple layers to hard edge the rest of the gold, as this creates the illusion of shine.

-There are a lot of tricks to creating the illusion of shine, but what it boils down to is you need to have an extremely high contrast on your piece. Don't cover up too much of any of your lower layers, you want to create a small area of shine over a large area of darker coloring. This usually means that you have to do a lot of fine blending in a very small space around your highlight edges- but that's how it is done.

We're in the new 5th edition era of "Counts As." Nothing needs to be wysiwyg anymore! All special characters work for all chapters of space marines.

In this case, we have a whole Dark Angels army that counts as an Ultramarines/any other chapter force.

Honestly, I've done so many "Counts As" special characters that I really can't see any difference between this one and any other.

lol, technically WYSIWYG counts only for characters specifically, which he is. that being said, i've got no problem with a DA player using the vanilla codex and marneus with it.
