I noticed that many guys apparently want the Female version of everything, even regular space marines and even if it contradicts the fluff;

how come?

Because painting a mini of a woman is the closest they'll get to female contact irl [/being cynical ]

It just gives some variety with painting, I get bored of painting hundreds of nearly identical models.

Out there in the real world there are these strange enigmatic creatures called "women".

I want them to be part of my fantasy too.

Yet, I have the Female Commissar...

However, GW does not do female sculpts as well as others.

Might have something to do with the fact that at least half of the human population tend to have body parts that correspond with the female sex.

They can and they do. May I point out the sculpts of the Necromunda Escher gang, or the Bretonnians maidens, or the high Eleven Queen with here Maiden Guard.
That being said...some of their female sculpts are just aweful...Female orc chearleader any one...

It's just another way to have a unique model. Since GW does very few female models having some women make the army unique. For example: Not counting Rogue Trader, Imperial guard has 2 female models in the Last Chancers, 1 female catachan, and 1 female commisar, and thats it. The modern military has many women serving. In fact, the US military is very close to allowing women to serve in direct combat roles. Plus, women are in the IG fluff-wise even. In fact, I seem to recall an IG regiment of all women from the current codex. As for space smurfs, it's really just a matter of having unique models since marines tend to be so uniform within their own chapter. If GW where to retcon women back into the Astartes people would likely lose their fascination with female marines. Nobody makes a stink about how 1 in 4 eldar warriors are girls, because they have models. It's the same reason people make pre-heresy armies. It's a challenge to make and it really sets your marine army apart in an environment choked with marines. There may only be 1 Space Marine for every planet in the Imperium, but somehow they manage to have 100 Marines on any given planet at any given time.

Also some guys are just horn dogs.

40K is very male-dominated. People get bored with this one-sided genderality and experiment, for lack of a better word.

In fact, 40K would appear to demonise the female: the race that lets its feminine side show most are split into two factions that are both viewed as sinister (at the very least) by the protagonists of the universe - one sacrifices billions of humans to save one of their own, and the other are hedonistic and arguably the most evil faction in the game.

Are you still to learn that the end and perfection of our victories is to avoid the vices and infirmities of those whom we subdue?

Reason well from the beginning and then there will never be any need to look back with confusion and doubt.

Lots of people want to be special snowflakes. Start up a topic somewhere about making up a space marine chapter and you'll hardly get any normal codex chapters. Forgeworld is doing our hobby a favor with their Badab War series by showing us a pile of examples of how to make a chapter interesting without making them all-female loyalist Thousand Sons posing as Space Wolf successors.

They're all butch dykes.

In all serioussness though, you cut their hair and take the boobs off their armour, and short of calling them 'sisters,' you really have no indication that they're actually women.

It is because a significant portion of the population of the earth find the feminine form attractive. It is why we are constantly bombarded in many different medias with its presence. From Suckerpunch, Playboy, Aphrodite, to Lelith Hesperax people just find it appealing. I remember back in College several of my Psychology Professors started up a few discussions regarding the subject. Heck it is the reason why Lesbian sex is more acceptable than male on male sex.

You should check out The Psychology of the Female Body by Jane M. Ussher when you are old enough to understand it kiddies. People just want to see women. It is as simple as that. Take a look around. You think those news reporter girls are dressed up like that for their health? Heck while I was writing this, I was also watching the news and saw a report about a controversial padded swimsuit top that a mother purchased for her seven year old daughter. That's pretty bad, but it is how out society is designed. It is getting worse but the fact is, there are people who want to see Lelith Hesperax's thong or a Flesh Pits Mileena in Mortal Kombat.

So in summary people want the female versions of warhammer models because it is human nature that has been manipulated by society since way before you were born.

Meh I get enough females between between SoB and Eldar. The only other faction that should even have women would be Imperial Guard, which should obviously exist, but they would screw around with the uniformity I like IG armies to have.

Female space marines are just a big NO for me. I'm sexist like tha tI guess.

Because 51% of the human population is female.

There are female gamers.

Maybe some people like the idea of powerful women.

Bewbs are cool. If you're nice to girls, they'll let you see them. Don't be a jerk.

It is not strictly true that people want a female version of everything.

Never seen anyone ask for a she monolith or bewbs on a LR.

I may just not have been around the forums enough though.

Because nerds can be really creepy. If there were bits for a female Guardsman on the sprue for Cadians, whatever, I'd build and paint her. I'm not clamoring at the top of my lungs for GW to make an all-female squad of Guardsmen or whatever though.

For some reason everytime I hear about Cocaine, I think of the movie Role Models.

Easy Boobs.

come on, our hobby has an unusually high % of men compared to the population, and men are hard wired to love boobs. I mean we have an entire involuntary bodily reaction based on what happens when we see them. we love them, and unless your gay, we can't get enough of them. Heck even some women love them, they're great, beautiful, and above all, it's hard wired to be exciting.

Eye of Terra.

Truth be told, in a universe where there is only war, having visible gender differences on a combat oriented figure is ludicrous.

The only possible ID might be that a figure might sport a female head.

The only reason they'd be identifiable would be if they had a penchant for super-tight, inefficient combat gear, had enormous breasts which would indeed need to be 'accomodated', or gravitated toward the proverbial 'chainmail bikini' in lieu of common sense.

I honestly don't know why people cite 'diversity' as a reason to have the scantily clad psyker, guardsmen or chest pieces which 'reflect' what is underneath as a reason. I mean, the diversity of what? The need to have a scantily clad female wearing an outfit of the local dominatrix over say, a marine in armor to protect him from enemy weaponry?

We all know what is the largest demographic for this game... so I guess it's to be expected.

This goes for almost all female figures. Rarely will you find one that doesn't have some overtly sexual connotation. I guess it's because it's hard to distinguish the one real difference between men and women, that they are the more attractive sex, in a little crappy figure. Well, unless you want them to resemble a manga cartoon... umm, and that's another whole conversation.
