I saw that a lot of people seems to have custom "ranks" on the forums. By default, mine was Fresh faced new user, and now it is been around the block. But I see some people having pretty cool ranks. So, I was wondering if we could customize them, and if so, how? Or is it just the dakka admins that have a lot of imagination?

Your rank goes up based on how many posts you have made. In your user options you can choose which rank "track" you want which gives you race specific ranks.

I believe you can make you own if you are a DCM.

For example me. I have 4,654 posts so my rank changes.
In order to make a custom one you need to be a DCM or a MOD or a Admin.

Your rank increases as your post count increases. You can choose which set of ranks you progress down in your profile (eg, imperial guard, eldar, etc). No, there isn't a list of what all the ranks are, and nobody will give you one if you ask. If you want to be able to set a custom rank, you can become a DCM by contributing monetarily to Dakka - DCMs can set their own rank, as well as other privileges.

1. Click on "Serder" (In the middle-top of your screen), this takes you to your profile.
2. Click on "Edit Your Profile" (on the left, just under your avatar). This takes you to your profile editor.
3. Under "General Information About Yourself" (the second section/heading/whatever) you'll see "Choose a ranking track", drop that down and select whatever army you want.
4. Scroll to the bottom and save your changes.

Also, I think that DCMs can pick whatever they want to display, so there's that too.

To choose which track you want you have to go onto your username then cick on "Click here to edit your profile.". You get a boat load of options for different races ect.

And as I just found out, if/when you become a DCM you can choose your own (I just haven't thought of one yet )
