Sorry guys didnt get time up to now Ill do my best to post it in the next 24 hours :S

the vid is mainly about the landraider and the tanks of the guard
ah and yessss the guard will have tanks at t1!!!!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
TADA I felt guilty and just made the article translation the vid is gonna be in the next 24 hours or so.
dont look at all the mistakes my english isnt the best and its 2 o'clock in the morning!!!

Dawn of war 2 is a sucessfully game with a few characteristic heroes who gain experience and can equip armour like in a roleplaying game. Tactical brilliance ,elite troops over hordes of small troops.
This recipe of succes you will also find in the following expansion RETRIBUTION , the second one after chaos rising.
At the same time relic is making concessions to the genre-traditionals:“ Al ot of people still want the usual gaming experience. They want nothing more than building hundrest of tanks to roll over the enemy.“ Annalyses the desing leader Dan Kading. Because of that they want to make it right for both factions: the unit building will come in and the heroes stay (I dont really get this part of the text but thats what it says there :/ )

More versality gives retribution also with the number of playable races. Each race has a own campain with 16 missions. In earlyer versions were you restricted to the spacemarines outside of the multiplayer area; now there are 6 races to play. Next to the marines these are the chaos orks eldar tyranids and totally new THE IMPERIAL GUARD. Each faction has its own units and its own storry and charme.
Althou all have to do the same tasks( missions i guess) but for each race the details of the mission get personalized. „Ideally we wanted 6 individual campains“ tells us Dan Kadingbut because of the time frame given to us it would have been impossible to do this really good“
The main game Dawn of War 2 suffered under a flood of enemy missions that played too simmilar.
„because ot that we wanted that every mission has to be builded from the beginning again so that there are one time events that stay in your memory.
Playing it more than 1 time is worth it even if the campain is on the known cards. But the plot changes depending on what race you play. You will have to face diffrent enemys.

10 years have passed since the last add on Chaos Rising. The imperium is angry about the permanent trouble in the subsector aurelia and orders the exterminatus.
That is atleast so frightening how it sounds. A fleet gets there to destroy one planet at a time out of the orbit with energy salves.
You try to stop the cleansing of the imperial guard by teleporting from planet to planet to uncover the secrets of aurelia.

(ah this is an intersting bit)
DanKading explains why the imperial guard is the new faction
In contrast to the space marines they are normal humans with whom you can identyfy yorselve good. Its the beginner friendlyest race we have created up to now because it has a lot of defensive mechaniks.

In contrast to the mad aliens and super beasts of the other races the guardists appear to be bravely.
You could nearly thing they are out of relics company of heroes. The guard owns the heavyest tanks and artillery units in the game. In the multiplayer mode its the only race who has acces to a vehicle from the stard of the game. The guard can set up defensive positions and weaponry towers and call reinforcements and bombardements. And ofcourse the guard has its own heroes in the multiplayer these are
Inquisitor (female yes its a she)
-ranged offense
Lord general
-defensive healer
Lord comissar
-meele freak with supporting abilitys

The heroes of the imperial guard campain are Castor Adrastia and Merric( maybe the one out of the dow 2 campain)
each of them has its own abilitys typically for the dow2 universe. Castor can heal troops and call air support, Adrastia burns her way around with which fire and Merric is invisible.

In the rest of the article they say how the first mission played on thyphon under exterminatus fire and something about escaping a baneblade and also about getting out of that hell with a time limit of 20 minutes and a lot of orbital bombardments trying to kill them :/ sounds fun!!!

Interesting. The description sounds a lot like DC with playing the same missions but intrigued to see how each map will be different from each races perspective. I hope Commander banter will be top notch in all of them

Any UK players fancy winning the chance to come and play Retribution early?

We've got a Chaos Rising tournament taking place this Thursday - it's a 1v1 knockout with up to 32 spots available. The winner will be invited to the Retribution event on 21st January, where they'll be able to try out the game and meet some of the team..

More details on the tournament, and sign-up, can be found here: http://www.thqinsider.co.uk/2010/12/17/chaos-rising-new-year-tournament-sign-up/

Aw... And I was hoping the Eldar would finally get a male leader for a change. Sad.

You mean other than the Warp Spider Exarch or the Warlock(who are both male)?

Plus, for single player, there's a Ranger character who is male. That's 3 males to 2 females(Farseer and Swooping Hawk Exarch, although it's possible the SP Exarch is male and I have forgotten that).

Yeah, he meant a male leader as in overall leader, not a male character Kan. I thought that was obvious.

Indeed.
Every DoW/DoWII campaign has Eldar led by a woman. Initially, it was fine. But after so many campaigns, I think it's time to shift gears.

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

I'm not familiar with the THQ store, so I thought I'd ask here. If I pre-order it from them, will I be able to choose which special pre-order equipment I want? Similar to Steams set-up.

Waaagh!
