Even my original 500 point list would have been anally brutalized, since I play nids. Instead, I played Ymgarls that didn't get to use dormancy and walk into bolter fire Fuuuun.
The good news is that I got a metric gakload of bits to play with. Whole 40k models, fantasy bits, even the entire fellowship of the ring. (Im gonna DEFILE some hobbits).
Idea for a ravener conversion thats dirt cheap. Like, get 3 raveners out of a box of warriors, IN ADDITION to the three warriors.

This one was actually completed a few days ago, just have not been able to post it. Sunday/Monday is my weekend, and Lady Doomthumbs and I went camping.
My protestations of "No, my phone can't upload pictures!" garnered exactly zero sympathy points for my "Stupid ass man dollies."
But now, I'm pleased to introduce Hive Fleet Pwnography's first round draft pick: Air Jordanid.
Note that he is indeed dunking a marine helmet, as well as wearing high top "Jordans", hanging on the rim.
I'm also fairly proud of the basket, carved into a passable circle from plasticard.

Heya Limbo, it is regular old Terra Cotta Colored Air Dry clay from Michaels/hobby lobby...
Take and old cd or dvd, take an appropriate amount of clay, shape it into a crater. Allow to dry (Clay will seperarte from cd when dry) glue CD back on base with hot glue ot pva glue, and flock or rock it as needed.

Been experimenting with taking the pictures with a turned off LCD screen as the background. It still reflects light, and the eye isn't as drawn to the white negative space.
I think it works out fairly well.

Honestly? I HAVE gotten a bit sidetracked with requests.
The focus has shifted... these aren't all dirty, just different. Models that are more different than just adding a GS mask or doing some arm/head swaps. Models that get a "Oh holy gak what is that THING" versus "I see you painted the ammo casings inside that heavy bolter clip. Nice job."

I'll have to work on getting a big group shot staged for you guys. I'll see if I can't get my friend who does wedding photography over here and snap some better pics/ Huge resolution pics so you can just zoom in on what you like.
Until then, I'm just gonna keep cranking through these ideas as fast as I can so that when that time comes, I can have something really huge to show off.

One thing that occurred to me whilst reading this thread is that rippers seem, at least the way you make them, sir, very similar to nurglings. Vicious and bloodthirsty, but also adorable, slightly ridiculous, and meddlesome.
Rippers masquerading as a space marine, or better yet, a terminator, would be great, I think. Ripper hands and face with the armour, and maybe even little pieces of rippers poking out in places...
But that's all up to your artistic liscense I guess, if you even take up my suggestion

I think the point that LeBaron was making (and throw me in with this as well), is that we want to see progress towards a table-ready army of Hive Fleet Pwnography. Your conversion work in any form, be it terrain pieces, dioramas, et al, is endlessly entertaining and perhaps our zeal for more field-able models comes from our desire, nay, need for your work to be shared with others who haven't accessed the P&M forum. Say, on a 4x6 table. Perhaps at a tournament. Who knows?
Clearly, however, there is a need for pieces like Ripper Jordan and Ripper S. Thompson. I think the obvious solution here is that you simply generate more table-ready converted 'nids for HFP while still cranking out artsy, non-gaming pieces at the same rate as present Don't worry, your cries from working your poor fingers to bloody nubs on little to no sleep will be drowned out many times over by the cheers of your loyal mob of fans. Plus, free washes!
