Here the text:
We though that it wouldn't be proper to leave our Blood Vestals running free without proper supervision.

This is why we came up with the warm and charming lady below.

The sculpt is almost done, we just want to be sure she will carry the type of weaponry you might want. At this point in time, she can be equipped with the following combos:

- Long Sword and Shield

- 2 Long Swords

- 1 Long Sword.

If you feel we've missed something important, please let us know.

There will also be a Sorceress Blood Vestal riding a Pegasus coming out very soon...

So they work on a non-Morathi as well!

I think the hairlines are generally too high on these elves. I'd personally remove the headdress (since it's no longer necessary to hide the hairline) and give her short hair, but just the first would be a big improvement.

The blood vestals are lovely figures...but just a little bit too small for my taste. I'm really hoping that the Sci-Fi ones fit with GW's range. I very much liked the preview of them.

The sorceress looks like she is in the process of being bucked off by the pegasus. I'd say that sculpt on that one is a little too dynamic for it's own good.

Hmm... The Pegasus is awesome, but the sidesaddle pose on the Sorceress isn't working. She doesn't look like she's actually on the saddle... more like she's in the middle of being bucked off as she tries to cast.

And if she is actually seated, her feet are in the way of the left wing. Which would be why it's bucking her off... poor bugger can't get off the ground.

I would have gone for a normal saddle, mounted a little further back, or a kneeling saddle ala the previous edition mounted Daemonettes from GW... Given how she's dressed, modesty obviously isn't a factor, so the sidesaddle doesn't really make much sense when a more solid seat would be better for sitting on an obviously quite fractious flying mount.

I do love the Blood Mistress, though. If she had been available when I ordered my demon girls, that would have been an instant sale.

Yeah, they keep doing that. Always makes me a bit cautious about what customs will say if they open one of the packages.

As for the other stuff, I got my two boxes of Preying Mantis' today. As with the previous Witch Elves release, they're beautiful models, but just a tad smaller than what will allow them to fit in nicely to a WFB/40k force seamlessly.

Also, with the amount of time it takes to get them, I doubt I'll be pre-ordering stuff from RH again. Better to wait until items are actually in stock.

Blood Mistress above looks good, she will be too small. I'll order 2 or 3 of her anyway. Also agreed with other posted about the sidesaddle rider who is totally nothing to do with Morathi. Nice concept, but it's just not working.

Guess the same as when I ordered a big Star Trek Borg Ship and the female US seller wrote "playmate toy" on the customs declaration (yes, it was opened )

RH have said that Skaryaa (Scar you, really?) is a little taller than her underlings. Not sure if that would make her fit any better into GW scale.

They have also said they are working on Sci-Fi versions of all the vestals, including Skaryaa. Fingers crossed for some lovely looking Wyches/Succubi/Archons, etc.

I'm glad to see RH are now available on CMON. These are good figures, above the usual GW clones - good sculpting and a different look to them. Similar to Scribor in that respect.

Rejoice indeed!

It's really great to see that head make a return. If I had any use for it at all (or more disposable income) I'd buy one on general principle.

Check the expression out on that peg's face....He doesn't even want a rider!! She is getting bucked off. Srsly tho, consider changing up the pose, or show some different angles of the model to ensure us that we haven't lost our damned minds.

On other fronts. I'd buy the B Vestal heroin in a hot second. In the renders her swords look a tad too thick, but that's hardly a problem. Also would be nice to see the other side of that shield. And what's the preorder bonus?

And as a side note a Sci Fi version of that heroin would make a kickin 40k Lelith, Malice, or JainZar. Armored high heels.....my housemaids wear those.

The ork model you have released currently is awesome, but the perspective photos you took made his power klaw look smaller than it is.

Yeah, we had this exact conversation the other day. How big is that power claw in reality?

3cm by just under 2.
The only difference from a GW klaw is they usually go three prongs.

Unfortunately, the head is not the same.

Here is the original:

And here is the Shedu head:

It loses the bull nose ring and the tusks... kind of a bummer. I still have access to a few of the original Lamassu head sculpts, if anyone ends up getting a Manticore and wants to use the original sculpt (PM me, obviously). Both look good, but I prefer their first one... although I know the decision to change it wasn't really in their hands.

Quite right, I hadn't noticed the difference... Although, to be perfectly honest, I kinda prefer the new version. I was never a great fan of the nose ring, and that is one powerful mustache!

Actually, now I ponder just getting the head for use in other purposes... Anyone have any sort of scale shot with the new (or old) heads compared to some 28mm minis?

glancing at the old head from across the room, it looks like the head is about 35mm from the tip of the bead to the top of the hair/horns.

Yeah, it's Big! Unlike the animal-like head of the manticore that comes base, which is really small by comparison. All great sculpts, though!

posted August 14, 2012

Yes, the SciFi Blood Vestals should have been on pre-order tonight, but it's 6:00 in the morning here and we are still tweaking a few details before presenting them to you in their final form…

They will be available in the next 24 hours or so. Promise!

In the meantime, here is a new render as well as a detailed answer to the many replies we received from you about these ladies. (see below).

Most of the feedback was quite positive and very enthusiastic. It was really great and inspiring for us!

It seems that, from the start, our original vision worked pretty well with what you are looking for. Nonetheless, your feedback was also very instructive and here is were it led us:

Your main request was about the scale and compatibility with other miniatures of other games. We worked hard on this to preserve the elegance and finesse of our Vestals while giving them the bulk and size that would work with the most popular minis on the market.

Because of this, the SciFi Vestals are slightly bigger than our Fantasy Blood Vestals and should fit perfectly with your preferred SciFi games.

Regarding the weapon options, your remarks mostly confirmed what we already had in mind. The option pack that will be available with the unit will help you customize your Vestals in a more specialized way. More on this in our next post.

Some of you asked for very specific sets of options, like a full unit with long swords for example. Unfortunately, we cannot provide this level of customization at this point in time. However, we are exploring the possibilities of adding a "bits" service in our web store, so stay tuned and, most of all, tell us if you'd be interested in this, and what you'd be looking for…

Regarding armor and clothing, we kept the original asymmetrical, gladiator feel of the armor and the amazon-one-breast-exposed style since nearly everybody seemed to like it. Some of you asked for more armor and some other asked for less to give more sexiness to the deadly ladies, so to balance this, what we did was to keep the original corsets as a light armor and worked really hard on the posing to bring more sexiness to the silhouette of each Vestal.

We felt that swirling long hair laced with deadly hooks would add to the whirlwind of grace and fury they move with. And it seems in accordance with many comments which asked for specific attention to the hair.

Regarding masks and helmets, those who expressed a preference seemed more interested by masks than helmets. So we have some separate masks that you'll be able to apply on the faces, just like Ivanka's gas mask, giving you even more flexibility in customizing your unit.

As many of you asked, we've also added grenades, ammo and pouches around their waist.

Some of you asked for several types of firearms, but it would simply up the price of the unit too much to add more weapons than we already did…

As always, many of you were concerned by the possibility of getting the SciFi Blood Vestals in resin. If this is your case, rejoice, as they will be available in resin or in metal, just like our Mantis.

Finally, many of you sent us some crazy / brilliant / innovative ideas, many of which would have been great to use on this project even if for some reasons (mainly commercial ones) we could not include them. Rest assured that we take your feedback VERY seriously and if some of your vows haven't been met on the Blood Vestals, you might get pleasant surprises in the very near future, and see some of your ideas picked up there.

Once again, many thanks for your support and enthusiasm, it really drives us. If you like Raging Heroes, please spread the word around in your gaming community, online and in real life. Your support makes all the difference for us!!
