That is one heck of a dragon. The scales look a lot like leaves or algae which is very fitting for a toad dragon!

That's a huuuuuuge model (and a super cool sculpt)! Nice start on the two-tone scales.

Skin tones on three-horns looking good too, natural shadows esta bien.

Looking forward to more!

He'll be used in my Albion beats list so I was wanting something suitably beastly and I think he'll mix in well with the other beasts.

Yeah he is a big model for sure. On a 200mmX200mm base. Easily the biggest model in this army. Still dwarfed by the chaos mammoth models.

Considering.how much I detest painting human/ humanoid skin. I am actually enjoying painting up these guys and the Giants.

Don Qui Hotep wrote:Niiiiiiiiiiiiice. Love a toad dragon. How heavy is it? Looks huge!

I'd say somewhere between 0.5-1Kg. I'd say his tail weighs just as much as his fat stumpy body.

Thanks for the kind words and hopefully I'll get an update out soon

Now that’s a face only a mother toad dragon could love, and erm, well, the little chap is well, erm, armed?. Nice flesh tones though... I would expect his weapon to be a slightly darker tone perhaps?

PS - I’m glad I’m not in the office as I had t spotted the NSFW tag in the post title!

Certainly is an ugly toad to be sure. Not much progress has been made on him. Don't know if I'm being overly critical of myself but whenever I start painting it I just don't feel like I'm doing the model or myself justice.

I needed to clear some space from my desk so I started clearing up the skeletons, I fortuitously got a knock at the door and a parcel handed to me with some 3d printed minis I am going to use as my Ushabti in my Barrow Kings army.

Pretty scary skeleton hoard. Rattle rattle, clang clang clang.

Thanks, I'm enjoying the skeletons. I'm putting minimum effort into them and it probably shows. But I've painted so many and I just can't be bothered with bones any more.

However that said I've painted my Ushabti stand ins for my Barrow Kings army. They're not completed yet but I enjoy the look of the unit at the moment.

I've also done a little work on the toad dragon and a giant. Not a lot but just enough to show movement.

Toad-dragon doesn’t get any prettier from that angle either. Nice paintwork on his maws though. As for the skeletons, they look pretty handy for a quick job

@Gobert he's trying his hardest but sadly there's a lot of toxic masculinity running around, especially with the albions all running around naked sporting 6packs.

Done a bit more on the Toady. Mostly just doing the first bit of the base, adding his goaders and painting those pretty little teeth of his.

Maybe soon he'll be the bell of the ball.

I love it! Scenic bases are always welcome for these larger models, especially when there's a narrative. I like the bloody guy in the back. "Wait, what did I sign up for exactly?"

Been absent from my blog for a bit.

Mostly just due to work commitments getting the better of me. But I have been productive.

I've bought myself a nice 3d printer which I'm having lots of fun with.

I've been printing mercenaries from Reptilian Overlords patreon and I'm backing grimforges Kickstarter.

I've also collected some squigs off the internet and been playing around in various softwares to just create cool looking monsters.

Anyway, enough with my babble. Here's some pictures

Good Afternoon,

Thanks for all the kind words. I am very pleased with how both the mercenaries and the Squigs are coming on.

Ha i was the same, though i may of cheated with my undead and used lots of washes to get them out the way I can't say enough how much I love the RO kits. I just wish there was more.

Thanks I've got 32 in total, but they'll be very much a slow burn as I rarely use my goblin army.

Thanks he was a test, the largest of a trio I'll be having. I wasn't particularly happy with the wings, but they'll certainly do for now.

I'm sure there will be more of the fantasy bits coming as they seem to have gone down very well with people

Yeah we'll wait and see. They're back to 40k this month which I'm sure I'll stick with as they could come in handy down the lines.

Thanks I'm glad you like the models. That was how I reacted when I came up with it, so I'm glad I'm not alone.

Today I started on some orcs, using Warploque miniatures ogres shrank down and with some resin heads that I got off eBay from Spellcrow.

Hope you like, hopefully should get some paint on them tonight.

A little update with the orcs. Nothing to shout and rave about but I did paint one up and enjoyed the outcome. Not 100% sold yet, but I do like the darkness of it.

Thoughts?

Thanks, I like the skin and if I carry on down that path I'll definitely be going with that colour scheme.

I've been working on my Mercenaries this weekend and managed to get 10 done. Very happy with how they're coming along. I need more practice with learning how to do supports so I'm not leaving marks on the fingers.

Thanks still don't know if I'm going to go down the route of using them as my orcs yet.

Thanks, I enjoyed the paint job too. Mixing powders with acrylic paints to get the skin tone I was after.

In follow up news I have been printing a new squig, this one is to be used as a proxy wyvern, very happy with the menacing pose he's got.

A few of the prints getting a lick of paint.

@Kid Kyoto, these cup cakes are more likely to take a bite out of you.

It's been a while since I've posted anything and I don't really know why.

This weekend I've been expanding on my already large ogre army.

I've been painting some more ogre bulls and a BSB.

I also printed out a new Bruiser I'll show him off when I'm a bit further along.

Hope you enjoy the bulls.
