I don't fully trust that "leak" only because Nagash getting drastically re-costed was one of the first tidbits GW let slip when 2.0 was confirmed. LoN staying the same sounds odd.

He said he only took a quick peek through the book and didn't have time to memorize exact points costs etc for most things. Just take it as a rough indicator.

Everything seems to pan out as expected. The "easy to builds" are going to be about £12, which is nice. Little annoyed by the objective markers though. I thought they'd be cheaper than that.

Malign Sorcery is USD $10 less than they said! That box would be like 300 bucks from a third party in resin. What a great price

Sooo...there's another Malign Sorcery spell coming with the Nighthaunt book.

And future battletomes as well will see more of them!

I really do feel Endless Spells will be less "optional" than people seem to think.

TheMortarch of Grief unveiled!

Behold, in all her glory – Lady Olynder, Mortarch of Grief!

Nagash is a being of exceptional power, but cannot be everywhere at once, and apportions his vast energies between the Mortarchs. Olynder is the most recently chosen of these dark lieutenants, gathering the previously disparate forces of the Nighthaunt into a terrifying spectral legion who fight at the spear tip of Nagash’s latest assault on the Mortal Realms.

In life, Olynder was a plotter and schemer who showed false remorse to improve her standing – now, in death, she is the possessor of a misery so deep and black it projects from her in vast, deadly waves. For most, to face her in battle is to lose hope and accept the inevitability of death – while those few with the will to stand before her are quickly obliterated by her deathly magics, or torn apart by spectral attendants.

We’ll be seeing more of Lady Olynder – and her Nighthaunt armies – soon, with Soul Wars being the tip of the (terrifying, definitely haunted) iceberg…

With the Mortarch of Grief revealed, only one named Nighthaunt hero remains unseen – if you fancy indulging in some wild speculation, let us know your guesses on the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Facebook page…

Mortarch of grief is a bedsheet ghost. Eh. I must say, I find that sculpt a LOT less impressive than I was imagining. Still, might be partly the paintjob, but... Nah, that's a miss for me.

Yeah...not impressed by that one. I like the look of a lot of the recent GW stuff, but that model...wow.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I think Grief Morty looks amazing (and easy to paint too). It reminds me of the Bride from the Haunted Mansion, which used to give me nightmares as a kid (I guess there is a reason they made her less terrifying now).

I'm actually really liking the nighthaunts. I didn't think I would. I still think the idea of a ghost army is kind of silly, and I thought an army of them would be a rare miss for AoS (like the Fyreslayers). But darned if they didn't make a thematically interesting army with awesome models.

She's a banshee...

I think it looks great. She goes well with the new easy build Banshees, and it makes her look significantly different to the standard Tomb Banshee.

I'm... Unimpressed. The details seem a bit too thick on the hair in particular. HOWEVER I am only unimpressed because GW has set the bar so dam high with the past releases. After the Eidolon it's going to be hard to live up to their top of the line stuff. What they did do very well here is the floating, ethereal feel with everything feeling weightless.

Also dat headress is top notch.

She looks remarkably subdued which fits in with the rest of the Nighthaunt faction but I cant help but feel that she's missing something. Maybe more flowy bits? bigger? some shackles?

Some of the E2B sets aren't in the boxed set and 40k has Felthius...

At that price i'm sure they're boxes of 3 easy build models, like the plague marines got at that same price point

We literally know that the $15 boxes are Easy to Builds as the War of Souls post that introduced them labeled them Easy to Builds.

It also labels them as "ETB" on the price sheet.

The contents of the new 'Easy To Build' kits can be seen HERE on Warhammer Community. The Sequitors are three models, the Castigators are three models plus a gryph hound while both the Myrmourn Banshees and Glaivewraith Stalkers are each four models.

I'm looking forward to seeing what some people are going to pull off with that blank canvas of cloth she has. But i personally really like her. She has a subdued elegance, something a lot of the bigger pieces have been missing lately when they try and cram too much detail onto them.

As a stand alone, Grief looks great, really dig the new banshee look and the INQ28 crew is going to do stunning things with her and her girls. But as a mortarch? I think the departure from the three mounted heroes is a misstep. Sure, Nighthaunts have a different thing going on, but all of the previous mortarch's have underlings with wildly different shticks. Grief will look sweet in the context of the other mega Nighthaunt dudes ... but sorely out of place against the other mortarchs.

On the topic of pricing, I'm pretty sure I can't afford $100 in AOS books, between both the core book and GBH18. I'll have to do some cost benefit analysis and see which one I actually "need" to buy to get the most relevant rules for my matched play buck.

Don't forget during the End Times the other Mortarchs were Vlad, Krell and a half dozen others. It's just that the mounted three are the most prominant right now.

You only need the General's Handbook. The 16 pages of rules and warscrolls are free, and the GHB has the point values you need. The Big Rule Book will have different ways to plays and some scenarios, but I haven't seen anything that suggests that anything in it is required for match play.

Well yeah, because they're the only ones actively referred to as "Mortarchs".

Krell's a Wight King with Black Axe, Vlad's a Vampire, etc.
