It adds new areas, improves guard AI/patrol routes as well as adding more guards to houses/shops and adding valuable locked chests to shops with hidden keys. The latest version also adds a huge vault under solitude full of valuables that is incredibly hard to break into.

Does it solve the biggest problem with thieving in Skyrim? A lack of anything to spend money on.
I've got like 500k gold and probably twice that much in items sitting in my "to be sold" pile. Yet, once you've bought all the spells and houses, there's never anything worth buying.

Not to mention selling all that gear is a pain. Right now skill training for skill below 90 is helping take care of my excess cash. Generally running 80-120k.

I kinda want to make a 'true economy' mod. See about adding in additional coinage- silver pieces, copper pieces, etc. Food only costs a couple copper at the most, while even basic iron armour costs thousands of gold.
It'd be quite the undertaking, but I think I'd enjoy it.

Not to get too smart but there's interesting political ramifications too. As a non-quebecois Canadian I'm instinctually against separatism. Especially when unity is needed in the face of a threat like the Thalmor. On the other hand, it probably wouldn't have even come to this if they hadn't outlawed Talos worship. That's a hell of a thing. Freedom of religon isn't actually that important to me, especially in psuedo-medieval times but in a way Talos is like the "Human God" and a Nord too boot. It's like outlawing the Imperial Cult on Terra. Obviously this is going to cause rebellion, it really was inevitable. However that law is a bit of a paper tiger. No Imperials enforce it afaik.
And I'm not even a Nord. And the Stormcloaks are very much "A Skyrim for Nords" race based nationalistic movement. That's not good for scaly minorities like me.
Anyways, I think I'll go with the Imperials because I still think the Empire needs to stay as strong as it can because the Thalmor will be back but I understand the Stormcloak motivations.

To be quite honest, I don't see Skyrim any more racist than the United States is.
Both have their bad apples who everyone focuses on, both have their bad apples in positions of power, and both ruin the reputation of the others.
I lean towards the Imperials just because the Thalmor will very likely be able to enslave the rest of Tamriel if the Empire does not stay together as is.
Hammerfell was able to fend off the Thalmor from invading their land when they seceded from the Empire, but that was immediately after the war with the Imperials.
For the long term health of Tamriel and the Orisinum, and for the ultimate destruction or pacification of the Thalmor, siding with the Empire is the best way to do so.
Skyrim would simply not be able to fight off the Thalmor on their own, its just not conceivable.
I side with the Imperials on the presumption that they will eventually turn hostile to the Thalmor in the near future and start whooping their ass, not because the Stormcloaks are "racist" or any other such simple generalization of a large force of people.
I don't see a Stormcloak Skyrim allowing the reconstruction and long term health of another Orsinium, so that is another factor.
In no way is it clear cut, however. If you simply wanted Skyrim to be on its own, and for them to join the Imperials as separate province to fight the Thalmor, that would very likely be the preferred option overall.
It really depends on what Bethesda says the victor does AFTERWARDS that really matters, the war in of itself is largely irrelevant.

This puts it well. Beyond re-canonising (or indeed re-deuifying) Tiber septim, the god of the common human, the stormcloaks have no long-term worth. They will only weaken man and the mer who dont wish to live under the aldmeri dominion. The Empire is the only choice.
