Hi,

I started this army about three months ago and I decided to post some of my progress, for you to comment and criticize!
Technically they're not painted in Evil Sunz colors, but I don't like the combination of Red+Yellow, therefore I chose to paint them Red and Red only (and green..)!!

Warboss:

Front:

Gun:

Back:

Battlewagon:

Front:

Back:

Gunner(s):

Pointer(?):

Loota's: (I know,I know, kind of out of the place in an Evil Sunz army..)

Mek:

Converted Deff Kopta: (I 'borrowed' the idea from DakkaDakka user KingCracker (with permission!), so credits go to him!)

And last but not least, my Big Mek:

Please let me know what you think, I'd love some (constructive or not) comments and critics!
Thanks for watching!

Feluca

Awesome stuff man. I'm diggin the red.

A bit more of the metallics on the wagon and copta would really help make them stand out. Not necessary as it already looks great, just a suggestion.

Very epic man, like it all, for me the trukk is a lot of red all in one place, but that's just a personal taaste kind of thing I think.

I like your paint job but just to clean IMHO I think you need to dirt down the red some with a wash or something. But a great job.

Thanks for all the responses and feedback!

@ Joske, yeah I really didn't like the look of the Deff Kopta, so I chose for my own (well, pretty much stolen) design!

@ noah & blak, the lack of different colors doesn't really bug me, but I agree that a true Ork Mek would show a bit more metal on his creations! I have 3 more Batllewagons to go so I will remember your advise!

@ thesilver, And what kind of wash did you have in mind? Because I often find that washes and vehicles (and their flat surfaces) don't mix that well!

Thanks for all the kind words!

I do my red as follows: Red Gore (Foundation Paint), Blood Red and Blazing Orange Highlights.

Now for characters and such (for a 'deeper' red) you could do as follows: Red Gore, Leviathan Purple, Red Gore (leave the recesses alone with this layer), Blood red and Blazing Orange highlights!

Feluca

Oh and @Jelrik: They indeed have the "Red 'uns go fasta!" rule on vehicles, which makes you move one extra inch! (I love it)

Well painted!
Though... the battle wagon is a tad to red for my taste.

Great stuff, your 2nd wagon is defo an improvement. I'd consider drilling those barrels out and perhaps adding some chipped paint here and there to break up some of the RED

looks good tho.

Lovely paint job, really nice and deep Evil Sunz red, got to admit I love the Deff Koptas.
Why does it not surprise me that those came from the transplanted Ork brain of KingCracker. Awesome stuff.

On a side note, I always equated Evil Sunz as more red and white, with yellow emblems, pretty sure that was how they where originally, and they've morphed over the years.

Either way, great stuff.

The deff koptas are awesome. My hat is off to King Cracker. That idea is really slick. I also really like the green tone you use with your orks. Looks great. The shade of red is very nice as well. Very similar to a red I myself like using a good deal. Great looking army all around. Cheers.

I love the koptas, they really look fantastic.

In terms of critique, how about using a wider variety of colours on the battlewagon? Maybe mix some orange or white in there? I'm by no means a pro painter, just a thought from a glance.

@ Morathi's: Yes, the old school colors were red and yellow, but i decided that I didn't like that combination

@ Astroman: All hail the mighty KingCracker! This was his original design: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/360699.page

@ El_Hammer: The skull is from the Stompa Kit, trimmed down and with a few pieces of plasticard. It was quite harde to make it fit!

@ Warboss: Your not the only one crtisizing the Red Battlewagon! I really should consider some other colors on the Battlewagon.. So I ask all of you:

Should I add more bare metal plates, Blue and/or white flames, or more black and grey armour plates? Please help me out!

Sigh, so glad to see that link in your previous post, was going to feint at the thought of waiting to look at that.

Lovely job mate, i do evil suns aswell, but no where near your standard and my red is way way way darker. But these are absolutely brilliant.

First off, Great models! I really am a big fan of the nice clean uniform look your army has. May wanna break up some of the redness with an electric blue power cable or two tho (HA HA!)

On a more serious note, I'd pick out some of the armor plates that are a little more raised up (AKA, extra armor) and do them in a raw metal color. Make them look bolted on. Additionally, you could break up the monotony of the red on the BW by painting the rivets a gunmetal grey.
