Well, it's practically a requisite to post here and say hello, so here I am!

I play Tyranids, and have only 3 battles under my belt - 2 vs. Tau and 1 vs. Witch Hunters. So far, I have had no success against the Tau, though I have enjoyed great success against the Imperium... here's a link to my first battle report.

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/374389.page

I'm running a 2005 Army Box and a new Battleforce, so for now I have an acceptably well rounded force - though that isn't discouraging my desire to buy a few more models. I've been thinking about getting some more Zoanthropes or some Hive guard, to get some anti-armor happening, but we will see.

Looking forward to posting lots of BR's between my forces and my buddies; should be some good fights between us all. There will be Tau, Witch Hunters, Ultramarines, and either Orks or Dark Eldar - I, luckily, get to be the author of the madness.

I also enjoy making terrain - we've crafted some rather pleasing grassy plains and hillocks, and some medium to large features, with plans for many more tiles. There's only so much time in the day!

Anyhow, that's my wargaming obsession in brief! Cheers!

-Steve

Hey SBG,

The "Sisters" you were playing against... were they Jawas? Cool armies on both sides anyway and a good battle report, too.

Welcome to dakka!

Yeah, my buddy Dan is uninterested in investing a few hundred into metal models just to try out the codex, so being the crafty type, he manufactured an army out of clay and household items. We've all mentioned the Star Wars influence, and I think he's been looking at buying some Grey Knights - whether this is due to our repeated cries of 'muteeni!' or not, I don't know for sure! :p

Hehe! Good stuff. You should use droids as objectives!

Welcome to the Hive Mind! And to Dakka!

Sorry to hear about your lack of success against the Tau. You'll find Hive Guard and Zoanthropes will really work to force his vehicles to position themselves the way you want, just always keep in mind all incoming threats and you'll be golden.

Welcome again! Hope you give us more battlereports soon.

Sounds like great advice; getting those tanks busted really should be at the top of the list! I really should get some hive guard, everyone seems to have great success with them.

And I will definitely be getting more BR's up as the games happen: will have a Nids vs. Tau game posted around the 25th (hopefully a win this time...) with pics, of course.

Thanks all for the warm welcome!

Hi there, and welcome !

That's a shame you defeated some fellow Witch Hunters. You will burn for your heresy ! (Except, it's hard to prosecute tyranids anyway... )
My only explanation is : not enough SoB in your mate's army !

(I have to confess that I like very much Tyranids also...)
