The model is painted amazingly. You should try doing a little more with the base, it kinda diminishes the great painting you've done.

The paintjob is terrific, though i will have to agree with tom, the base is very plain when compared to the model itself. It need some sort of additional texture, like some rocks or some water or something to break up the grass. Other then that, great job.

Base aside, I really like the unique color scheme you have there. Great job.

Thanks everyone for the feed back!

As far as the base goes, yeah it is a bit on the simple side, but the customer wanted a simple base...so that decision was out of my hands.

Now i'm in no position to criticise as you're clearly very good at painting, but the spirit stones could do with some more work next time. They look quite flat - try rounding off the highlights more, and maybe doing three gradations of colour, and the white catch-light is too large and un-subtle. Just constructive criticism, hope you don't mind

i agree with the ^above comment. I also suggest you add some gloss varnish to the jewels to make them seem shiny and more realistic. The base is a little too plain for such a wonderfully painted model

I agree, it can be tough sometimes, but as the painted I have to weigh what I have been paid for the project, the amount of time I put into it, against the actually quality that I produce, it can be a tough balance. In this case I tried to focus on the most obvious parts of the model that would get the most attention, the head piece, the sword, parts of the armor, ect...

This is why I offer a tiered pricing system, so that the client does not get over charged, and I don't get undercharged, a fair price for a fair piece of work.

Fair enough, I don't doubt you're capable of more detailed spirit stones and bases. Most people on the site are hoping to paint a figure to the absolute best of their ability, but as a painter-for-hire you have to balance it with your time
