Well if china is getting interested... does that mean GW will lower they're prices to something reasonable since they'll possibly attract just that many more buyers? (I can see it now, international 40k tournaments to settle economic disputes with china...)

Makes the American cosplay I've seen just terrible by comparison.
The Repentia with the power sword is pretty hot. Lylyth doesn't seem to belong in the line up. Seeing people in close to realistic renditions of Astartes armor underlines just how ridiculous is their design.
I really did a RAAAWR when I saw the chick covered in scrolls, weilding that huge sword. She was abit too cute to be a warrior from the warhammer 40k world though lol
The Vostroyans and sisters looked pretty awesome. The marines suffered from the normal cosplay proportion issues, but seemed to be pretty well made nonetheless. Impressive work, anyway.
Modeling companies tend to have professionals attend conventions and cosplay trying to spread the name. Whether this is for portfolios(both for the company and the models), company press, or to get a feel for who might be needing new booth babes depends on the event and company.
