I've been posting around here for a while now, so I think it was about time to properly introduce myself.

My first contact with wargaming and 40k more precisely was through one of my best friends sometime around '92. He had a box of MB's Space Crusade and we spent many summer afternoons on this giant table clearing space hulks of orks, genestealers, necrons and the fantastic Chaos dreadnaughts. Around that time we discovered the Space Hulk computer game which was so confusing and seemingly HARD as we didn't speak much english and OMG 4 MARINES AT THE TIM - DEAD! In the end we were swallowed up the growing computer gaming scene and moved on.

I dabbled a bit into the Warhammer Fantasy universe thanks to Warhammer Online (TERRIBLE game but man the tome of Knowledge was a thing of beauty...and I got my first miniature ever, Grumlok & Gazbag) but I was still drawn more to the claustrophobic hallways and guns of 40k (at that time I thought all there was about it was Space Hulks). The Dawn of War series brought 40k back to my attention and exposed it in all it's gory glory. Finally, after dropping off WoW for the last time and a few months of reflection on my hobbies I ended up in our local GW store and walked out with the Black Reach box. The rest is...well...history in the making

I came here for the hugely awesome Gallery and stayed for the Dakka.....because you really can't get enough o' dat!

Wow, I never got to have a crack at the Space Crusade game, but the first Space Hulk video game did catch my eye. Then it traumatised me! Late in the day it may be, but welgekomen!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
