Hello Dakka-Dakka!
One of my son's college pals showed me some minis he was really jazzed about and they were on this site.
That was my first visit.
I build and sell terrain and scenery for a variety of table top strategy games.
From 2002 to 2004 I owned a game store in N. Ga, and learned to make terrain for my customers to use.
We paid the bills with it from time to time as well.
Since the shop closed I have been working from home. I have been doing this for about seven years. Business has grown onto a taxable venue, and it is how I pay the bills
Maintaining an ebay presence has created a bit of a following and a client base, and a Facebook portfolio has helped to encourage commissioned work. recently I was contacted through my Facebook page by some one wanting to commission a full table of terrain and the board as well.
A friend of his had shown him a reference to my work here on Dakka-Dakka.
Over the past few years when ever I have been asked to please attempt something I have never done before, searches for terrain examples have always lead me here. The work accomplished by some of you wargame enthusiasts is remarkable. ALL of what I have seen is amazing work.
being mentioned here on Dakka-Dakka just made my day.
So now here I am...
