On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

That's really cool isn't it. I remember the stir that drawing of the Hrud caused when it first appeared!

And I would loved to have seen more of the dog soldiers

I just brought up this bit of art in another thread.

The fact that it's sketchy and a bit amateurish makes it more evocative than something shaded with 100 layers or run through 100 photoshop filters.

Something a spacer might sketch in his notebook before getting on a ship.

Exactly, the fact it is simple is what grabs your attention.

Spoiler:

I really loved the style of the old codexes where artwork was presented in black and white.
It really made things look darker and grungier.
It also allowed you to take every piece of artwork as "your dudes", because if you didn't look too closely you could just ignore the toilet seats in a way that every marine being bright blue doesn't allow you.

It helps to think of them as marines in the Emperor’s Lucky Charms chapter, Purple Horseshoes company.

Probably already posted in the past, but this is always a personal favourite of mine from those early days:

Foes anyone have links to the pictures from Bill Kings Desthwing story?

The galaxy is littered with the single-planet graveyards of civilisations which made the economically sensible decision not to explore space.

Bit late, but dug around and found the old .pdf file of the original Space Hulk supplement, which contained the story alongside the expansion.

Awesome, thank you so much! I'm putting together a deathwing force and wanted to emulate the look of the termies from this story.
