Hi all,
I am completely new to war gaming, having recently gone on holiday with a friend, we played with his napoleonic wargame figures. I enjoyed it a lot, so I am looking into starting warhammer - I figured rather than buy a napoleonic army and restrict play to just one friend who is moving away next year, warhammer probably has more local players. I live in Lancaster, England. I have no idea yet of whether I want to play WFB or 40K, depends on what local players I can find I suppose.
After doing a quick search of the forums I have found a couple of people locally, but their topics are all from 2010. Would it be annoying to others on this forum if I was to dig up these old posts?
EDIT: I have just been to the FAQ section and seen that it is frowned upon. I will PM the members instead.

I would say that with either game you would be able to find players. I'd suggest getting into whichever more interests you as it is a big time and $$$ commitment and you want to be as into it as possible to make it a worthwhile endeavor.
