I want to know what everybody thinks the best DE hq is and why.
please tell me which ones you think are good, okay, and just plain bad. Please tell why they're good or not.

Lelith: she seems good at first but when you think about it shes really not that good. He str 3 is a huge problem and she can be insta-killed by a PF

The decapitator: sounds cool and has an awesome bio but i cant imagine a reason to take him. His deep striking sounds cool but with t3 if he lands pretty much anywhere and he will be the sad victim of plasma

Duke Sliscus: Personally he seems pretty awesome in a wych themed army. You can even add in some 4+ trueborn or warrior squad! His statlines nothing to write home about but he isnt terrible in cc. Probably one of the best balanced hqs.

Succubus: one of the better bang for buck hqs. She has an awesome statline and if you give her an agoniser shes good to go. Ser flaws being that you can pick her out with PFs and that for less points a hekatrix does almost the same thing

Haemonculus w/Liquifier and Scissorhand.
75 points gets you 5 poisoned attacks on the charge, pain tokens and the best flamer in the game.
Generally I save points by just keeping it down to a Liquifier since mine usually just stay in the Raider and flame things.

Is the scissorhand worth the points?
I planned on using a venom blade instead because its cheap pointswise but is the scissorhands worth 10more points?

Well depending how big you plan to make this army and what your plans are to do with it.

Personally I would recommend
Baron Sathonyx @ 105pts

You get so many things out of the baron plus he gives you the ability to take Hellions as a troop choice.

Or you can take the Haemoncolus with Agoniser, Liquifier gun and Dark Gate for the same amount of points @ 105pt, also he give wracks as a troop choice.

I think the point of Lelith is her *wiping out* any powerfists that could squish her since she'll (almost) always attack first as will her accompaniment. And if it's your run of the mill marine with that powerfist.....She gonna have a lotta attacks to hit first with and she takes away one of their attacks with her hair (Bada$$)

But still, Haemonculi are the cheapest and prolly the most effective.

Don't ignore the humble archon though. Can be kitted out to fill your needs.

Biggest weakness to the Haemy is he's I4 and can be instakilled by PF's without really having any sort of invulnerables.
Lelith's pretty good since most Powerfist carriers will hit her on a 5+ and she's got that 3++ in combat.

I guess you're right. Shes not that bad.

Anynody hqve opinions on malys and sliscus and things like that

Urien - Waste of points, You can get multiple normal Haemy's for the fewer points and they'll do exactly the same thing

Lileth - okay, but nothing special. If she had strength 4 or drugs she might work, but she doesn't

Decapitator - just no

Duke - not tried

Draz - good, but he costs far to many points IMO

Malys - never tried

Vect - good, but he costs a LOT of points, could do with having EW

Sathy -you get SO much for 105 points. Stealth, PGL, +1 to see who goes 1st and hellions as troops. The hellions part isn't that useful, but everything else is gold.

Haemonculus - the best option IMO. cheap, good force multiplier, access to lots of awesome wargear.

Archon - good old-fasioned beat stick. they can get quite expenive depending on wargear though.

Succubus - just a cheaper version of the Archon really, less durable though. still a reasonable choice.

Agreed on the Hoemonculus. The named characters are not that great compared to stock characters, really.

An archon with a Shadowfield and an Agoniser can take out Daemon Princes without breaking a sweat, however.

I'll do it Gorechilds way since it looks the most organised

Urien - Only ever take him for a fluff list using lots of Grotesques to make them S6 but otherwise just no.

Lileth - Compared to the old dex she is awful. Yeah you get alot of PW attacks but with just S3 and no drugs she is a pass.

Decapitator - Never ever ever

Duke - Not bad for a wych list, two rolls then pick is really nice.

Draz - Great armor, and nice rules but no inv and limitations on where he can join just gets compounded by his cost. Fluff list only.

Malys - Actually not that bad. Rather use her than the blaster/djin blade archon. Also annoys SW players with murderous hurricane to no end.

Vect - Great for higher point games. He makes the cut for me at 2K. Stealling on a 4+ with PE and rerolls against Eldar/DE, while hitting on a 3+ and wounding on a 3+ with no armor. Shooting attack that is based off of majority ld? Sign me up.

Sathy - Not bad, but no good either. +1 on the first roll is nice, but Hellions are garbage. I'd rather have beasts or scourges. No take in my book.

Haemonculus - Best for lower point games, and great in duplicate for cult lists. Free pain token is what they get used for in my lists. Give 'em a liquifier and leave them in the boat. Don't give them CC weapons as without fleet or a good Int value he'll die with his garbage armor.

Archon - Good fall back. Never hurts to field one if you have the points. Keep him cheap prefferably with drugs, shadowfield, agoniser, and maybe some haywires.

Succubus - She dies to easy IMO. I'd rather take a haemonculous or an Archon.

That extra attack's quite often helpful, though ultiatley for what it's worth just getting an agoniser is a better option.

It's more useful on Wracks / Grotes though to be fair, being able to re-roll to wound for poison against anything whos strength is equal or lower to their toughness is nice. Specially on a T5 unit.

Personally I use Haemonculi most, but then I mainly use a coven so there's not really any other to use for that . Haemys and Duke Sliscus - cos Sliscus is cool.
