Seeing as there is currently no alternate profile for them to get confused with, you could happily proxy your standard Librarian as a Primaris Librarian. This does annoy me too though.
True, but that's boring =/
The positive side is that I get another modeling project for the PriLib. lol

Do we have the full list of 41 commanders out now?
I haven’t seen a full one anywhere

The full list isn't out, but the Imperium Preview only listed 4/5 choices for DW. Primaris stuff and the Watch Master.

I'm only playing narrative Kill Team to tie in with regular 40K games and campaigns so I doubt I will use the Commander's expansion much. Will probably skip it.

Might sound stupid but - is there need to buy/use the Commander Pack at all? From what I’m reading, it’s optional and just gives some unique characters/leaders to use right?

No need at all if your playing with friends,
however if your playing random pick up games and the local meta moves to everybody else using them you may feel you need to join in (although who knows a bunch of extra normal troopers may well be able to out fight them anyway)

With that platoon commander Astra Militarum tactic, will they just be outright more useful to take compared to the commissar? My only problem there is, a commissar actually makes a lot of sense, while a platoon commander being there can make sense but a lot more specifically.
Then again, the commissar might give a sweet leadership tactic which would be very handy for Guardsmen as they fall to nerve tests pretty badly

I am actually looking forward to the commanders. I think they will make campain games more fun and add variaty to it.
For matched games though i am still on the fence. I would love to see a more customizeable teamleader who packs a bit of a punch, On the other side i dont want the 100p limit to rise. Killteam lives from its small unit number. Its what gives this game a lot of tactical depths and what makes it appeal to new players.
Furthermore i am afraid that it will turn games into 'shoot the big guy before he slays all of your guys' where movement and positioning wont matter as much as lists and firepower (just like AM impacted 40k)
At least i am convinced that the release will have a new Plastic chaos Sorcerer - and maybe some other new chaos models?

The Commander boxes are $40 Canadian, every one I saw at least. Unless there are all sorts of funky, character specific advancement algorithms for special characters, I don't see myself buying more than one or two of those at most.
Swing and a miss.
Had they been new or different sculpts, maybe, But recycling stuff and increasing the cost, no thanks.

Interesting. If that's the case for the Dominus and the Primaris Librarian it puts them at cheaper than their listed cost.
I hadn't looked at CAD prices before. They're weird...

If they’re £20 it seems like they’re putting quite a premium on a few bits of card. The librarian isn’t such a great deal for those who’re able to get their hands on a couple of 40k Conquest.

Actually i think the opposite, i see no reason to bring a platoon commander (the tactic they showed is litterally sir,yes sir from the astra militarum box with three more inches and sergeants already give orders) over the sweet ld 9 of a lord comissar (i play without scions so keeping my team from breaking is the way)

You might change your tune if the Platoon/Company Commander has access to a skill tree the Lord Commissar doesn't.

Indeed, without the rules all i am doing is speculation, that being said in my games of KT morale has been the main weakness so it's what i should boost

Earlier I believe it was mentioned that the characters in RT were between 40-150+ points or some such.
But also heavily mentioned it’s just 150 points per game.
How does this work if you use the higher level characters for their bonuses?
I know commanders may change it anyway, but what about in RT?

A given Commander has specific points costs for each Level (something like 45 points for Level 1, 60 points for Level 2, 75 points for Level 3, 95 points for Level 4). You may then take up to three Traits for them, which are extra abilities or stat bonuses, each with their own points cost, which can be anywhere from like 5 points to 30. Rogue Trader had about a half dozen generic ones, then a few specific to each Commander.
So it is possible to select like a Level 4 Commander that starts at 100 points or more, and select Traits that bring them up over 150. Obviously you can't then actually use them in the usual 150 point Commander mission, but there could be provisions like if you are using the Escalation rule for a campaign, then when that kicks in it increases Commander missions to 200. Or just, ya know, custom missions and mutual agreement.

I love the idea of introducing commanders, but really only wanted low-level commanders like a lieutenant, warlock or enginseer. I don't have anything against the possibility of introducing powerful commander for mission-specific reasons (like assassinate an enemy commander or assault the G'Primarch's lair); but I'd rather not see midlevel-to-powerful commanders leading small kill teams.

Good thing that’s exactly how they work then: they are only used in missions that specifically require them or that explicitly say all players may choose to use them. And you still need a Leader in your kill team. Narratively, this represents the Commander attaching themselves for a specific mission that requires or warrants their presence.

If those prices are correct, then I am not interested. I like what has been released for KT so far, but a $60 expansion rulebook is too much, as is a +10 markup on the Watch Master I'd want for my Deathwatch.

Anyone having RT, what about Commanders and Leaders?
If one's kill team includes commander, does leader specialist is still chosen? If not, does commander passively generates CP to be used for tactics?

I addressed this two posts above yours :p
But no, nothing in those rules say the Commander replaces the need for a Leader.
ETA: More specifically, every Commander has a specialism and doesn’t count against the number of specialists. Neither Elucia nor Thrice-Cursed have access to Leader (though Elucia has access to Strategist which is very similar in benefits and feel to Leader) - so it is conceivable that there could be Commanders in the Commanders book that have access to Leader, but I would personally be surprised if that were the case. The entire idea behind them is they aren’t leading the kill team in their regular operations, but show up for a special objective.
