Don't know if this has been done before but here it goes.

What is your proudest and favorite moment as a wargamer. Mine is the completion of my first model, a space marine from the old 3 model starter set to paint miniatures.

Please share your moments.

I have many moments. I'm not sure I could state just one.

Some of mine include:

- Being asked for the first time to commission a model. I didn't advertise and being tapped was the biggest compliment I had received.

- Freehanding a traditional Japanese dragon over a Space Marine Rhino and selling it off. At the time, it was a big challenge and unlike anything I'd ever attempted before.

- Beating the manager of my local GW. To this day, I'm still undefeated there but I will never forget the game. "Beating" the manager was something noone had done, so for me it was a big ego booster

Cheers for posting!

I'd have to say being asked to do commissions ranks pretty high up there. Also learning how to decently paint yellow and white, and the day I got my airbrush.

Painting Within the Lines

Let's see...

1). Painting my Guard army for the first time. Having a fully painted and based army was a rarity at my FLGS (it still kinda is), and being one of the guys with a painted army was an honor, even if they did look like this:

2). Being commissioned for the first time. I'm not exactly a GD winner, but I paint quickly and evenly, so when a buddy asked me to do a GK army and most of his Tau I was honored.

Playing against a blood angel player with my dark eldars. killing 90% of his army on first turn, like killing a whole sanguinian guard just with one liquifier gun shot. I easily won on 2nd turn. It was supposed to be an objectives game

I got a few:
1. Immobilising a chaos dreadnought from one necron shot.

2. Wiping out nearly 1000pts of skaven with a single aracnarok spider.

3. Being flank charged by special rat ogres and still winning combat and overrunning. (was horde unit of 40 big 'uns)

when my sniper scouts decided they were hot gak and started taking down assault terminators.

Shot up the remnants of a squad with bolt pistols, charged, and finished the squad off... next turn, they turned around, and beat the hell out of another short terminator squad.

Good ol' scouts.

killing karandaras with an exploding sentinel was probalbly the most epic

wiping out a 5 man blood knight squad with 1 organ gun was hilarious as all he had after that was zombies and a lord wich were all chopped up with big axes

When I first painted my Chapter Banner from the SM Command Box. I wanted to go for the 8th Company design (2 crossed swords and skull motif) as I wasn't too fond of the eagle designs and preferred that look, regardless of the fact that the 8th Company is nothing but Assault Marines. Looking back on it now, it was absolute crap compared with what I can do now, but I never forgot the joy I had when I used it on the table.

Also, I'll never forget my first ever kill in any game of 40K, which was one of my own Tac Marines. From then on, I had always learnt to keep my Flamers in the front rank.

Mine would have to be being asked to paint an Amazingly converted army only three months after picking up the hobby. I've struggled with Dysgraphia and fine motor problems for most of my life, so having someone look at my army and ask me to paint something that they've put Hundreds of hours into converting is one of the highest compliments I can imagine.

Game wise, having a unit of vespid deep strike and kill an outflanking assault marine squad (shrike was killed by fire knives) and then having them run up and down the table killing small units of marines. And doing this after being told that I was a fool for taking vespid in my army.

Painting wise knowing I have two fully painted armies that are tabletop standard.

I have another one to add.

painting my Nurgle DP and brining it to warhammer world, then a GW staffer asked if he could take a photo of it then put it on his Facebook page.

My next thought was "is my painting that good?".
