Quick question: Is Maelstorm as awesome as it looks?

I only ask because I was told Wayland was awesome and was disappointed to find that they don't send to USA. Does Maelsorm send to USA?

Do they really send as fast as they claim? 1-3 weeks for a oversea shipping? and free on over $30 order?

Check out my little ork story I am working on here!

Im guessing your talking about maelstrom in the UK yea?

If so, I used to order quite a bit from them, shipping is usually pretty quick as long as items are in stock and the free post over 30 bucks I assume still exists.

Sadly I cant order form them now because of GW shenanigans.

Dark Eldar- 1500pts Completed
Grey Knights- 1500pts 1 Guy done
Chaos Daemons- Approx 5000pts
Slaanesh Daemons- 1500pts, in progress
Khorne Daemons- 1500pts, in progress
Death Korps of Krieg- Plans being formulated.
---------------------------------------------------
High Elves- Approx 2000pts
Vampire Counts- Raising the dead once more

Wayland should send to the US on al thing except GW (although this is subject to change). Maelstrom is the same. Both are good companies.

This also applies to all European retailers on account of GWs rulles against selling outside of geographical areas. Although HBMC should be along in a minute to tell you of others that are not held to these ruls.

I would suggest Thewarstore.com in the US?

They can't ship outside of the EU either due to the GW embargo. Since you're in the US I'd say try somewhere like the warstore.

I find they have problems restocking, I never buy anything from them that is marked as out of stock hoping that it will be restocked soon. I would advise others to do the same if they are looking for a speedy dispatch.

Beyond that, I have always shopped with confidence from them.

Even that isn't a guarantee. I have bought stuff from both Wayland and Maelstrom that has been clearly marked as being 'in stock' yet it still takes 2-3 weeks to arrive. If you don't mind the wait however, they are fine and the prices are usually pretty good.

Most of the time they're pretty good. Occasionally, they'll take 3 weeks to send out items that were "in stock" and give you a chain of pathetic excuses when you ring them internationally. Aside from those few times, their Customer Service is actually really good.

Having said that, 80-90% of the time they are on the ball and I would heartily recommend ordering from them. I get all my Vallejo stuff and most of my non-GW models from them. 10 pounds is easy to make up.
(I only order items that are in-stock, though).

Eh.
I ordered from them (I have relatives in the UK that I send my orders to, they then bring them over on visits) and after waiting for a total of 9 weeks for them to DISPATCH (not for me to recieve, but for them to dispatch) a single box of Wracks and a Haemonculus, I canceled the order. Never ordering GW stuff from them again!

Due to the finecast restriction GW has placed on independents, (a max of 5 units of each kit per order - which is once a week I believe) I'd not bother ordering anything finecast off them atm, unless I am willing to wait a long while. For plastics however they are usually pretty quick.

It should also be noted the delay in dispatch increases by a few weeks whenever they do a discount sale, due to huge influx of orders they recieve.

Other than those two points, I'd recommend them to anyone.
