FFG is supposed to produce some 40k-related Boardgames by now (read August WD issue, news section), but they're not real "GW products"...

The link didn't work for me either, so thanks for posting the picture right in this thread. That picture is quite enticing. Whether or not it's the Mystery Box product, I'm looking forward to seeing more.

There is no way that is the Mystery Box. For one, Dark Heresy is a FFG product, and GW is not going to take that over. I think those are purely for some Dark Heresy related board game or miniature tie-in.

So is GW going to sell this thing for pre-order just as a "mystery box"? That would be f23@#^@ing hilarious.

The shot of those WIP's could be a FFG thing or a fan project. I'm leaning towards the latter, mainly because of the Dwarfish minis shown there.

Hence the stupidity of the 'mystery box', Now whatever it is loads of gamers are annoyed. If they had just announced the release like any other game company we could be excited instead. Whatever that Dark heresy thing is I'm intrigued much more than a Space Hulk re-release. Something genuinely new from GW would be nice IMO.

Heh, maybe it's GW providing the models for the Dark Heresy game and that it's a separate thing.

off the top of my head, skaven from cybots, that game was made waaay back. but not sure if it came first. they certainly arent original though.

ill clarafy what i said, what i meant was they have never had a COMPLETELY original idea. (not slowed "completely" as in nids arent original cause aliens arent) but what i mean is everything they have takes heavy refrence from something established. for example nids were changed as soon as starcraft came out.

I don't know, whatever this is, those space dwarfs in the picture don't appeal to me at all, and the man-boobed space ogre on the right looks like the average red shirt without his red shirt on.

My FLGS got an email from their GW rep today telling them they'll be able to order the mystery box on the 17th. That makes me hopeful that it won't be an in-store only release.

With any luck a certain store will get them as well.

Alarms are still ringing after sleeping over it for a night. The more I look at that picture the more I get the feeling that it is a fan project of sorts. I mean, those power armoured midgets, are they Demiurg or something?

Honestly, feth the mystery box - this picture, and the Dark Heresy connections has me far more intrigued than anything I've seen recently.
