I concur, great stuff Knightley. Great idea with the hammer head too, just enough "lightening" effect without going over board.

@Bash the Bosh - Thanks dude, I was worried the lightning would look terrible as the opposing corners ran together in the middle.

@ZG - Happy to help bud. Let me know when you give a cloak a bash and I'll see how you go

@Graven - Cheers mate. I tried a different paint for the highlight, typically I would use gold to highlight but added mithril to bronze, gotta be very careful though, a little silver goes a LONG way.

@Gits - Thank you dude. I liked your yearly recap so much awesome models done!

@LT - Thanks

@Ice - Thanks man, every lightning attempt is different and sometime I worry it looks like pants (which is fine if you are looking for trousers to wear. Not so much for smiting deamons)

Update: Inquisitor Valeria started

@Gits - Thank you, I was wondering if going so light with the grey would ruin the highlighting, but when viewed at a distance looks on point

@KT - I just had a ye olde english matriarchal voice in my head say "they deserve Exterminatus"

She really does look quite Noble. I love the last variant of her Knightley, the writing isn't OTT and rounds her out quite nice. Meant to post to this last night when I saw her, her pony tail is superb!

@SW - Thanks man, the base model is based on Bertha from fantasy so I suspect the noble look is because she was a noble

@Gits - Cheers, something clean and crisp eh

@ZS - Thank you!

@Mad - Just an hour a day means I can keep up a steady pace, its surprising right

@EDC - Thanks, whos your favorite out of the two?

Lovely work bud.

The lady earlier looks fab, and squiggles definitely working wonders there.

Last gent is looking awesome, love the model, and your touches are working well. Agree that the limited pallet is really helping the models too.

I never thought I'd say this... too many squiggles. I really liked the colors playing off one another with his garments and robes in the front. I think the large patch of squiggles on his under-robe really eliminated this interplay and in many ways the definition of the sculpting of the figure.

Beautiful job on all other levels though.

To answer your question, as a model I think I prefer Valeria, but it's probably more to do with seeing a neat conversion.

Lok is looking great too, the gold trim on the cloak is a nice touch is that modelled or did you free hand those straight lines?

@ZG - Thank you, I wouldn't say this is my best work, I still firmly believe either Abbadon, Fabius bile or my commission of Fulgrim to be some of my best work.

@W_W - Cheers, its partly why I took up the moniker of Papa Squiggles

@Gits - To many squiggles?? what is this blasphemy! I get what you mean though, the angle in the picture doesn't show that there is a little bit more balance in the center (there is more space around the side of the loincloth) However there might be a bit to much squiggles on the loincloth as well.

@LDP - Yeah I hadn't really noticed it too until I had some washes on it and could see a lot more of what was going on.

@EDC - Free hand my friend, most of the cloak based stuff is all freehand. Some times you just have to spice up a blank canvas a bit

Update: now that all the Inquisitors are done, now its time to get on and paint some henchmen, I like painting three at a time so expect that going forwards!
So first up we have an acolyte with las pistol and power sword, A Arco-flagellant counts as and a Mystic/psyker

Love Lok's sword Knightley, your scripture work adds a really nice touch. Interesting use of a Kroot, helmet really does wonders on him to transform him. Thanks for sharing as always!

Beautiful work as usual on the Lok model Knightley.

The lightning on the front side of the sword looks a bit odd, but maybe thats just me, because the back side looks fine.

Looking forward to seeing more henchmen.

@SW - Cheers, I had look locally for some cheap arco's but people were wanting $25+ NZD for them, so scratch build ftw

@Mad - Yep, the lightening on the front is pretty bad compared to the rear, I tried to do something a little different, it didn't pay off that well. Good eye though

Update: base colors and washes done
