hmmm... i wanted to make pistons for the legs anyway... good suggestion by you 2500kgm3...as for the direction of where the cockpit will be facing... i am totaly open...so i will try that out... unfortunatly i think i would do heavy destruction if i would try to get the feet off of the base... better option would then be to arange matters that the base is more heavy... that could be aranged by counterweights...
well tomorrow will definatly be another attempt to make a better cockpit...

Cockpit looks a tad small. Also it should indeed be reversed.
As for the legs, take a quick look at the battletech Mad Cat. The legs should be diagonal to support any weight. With a cut at the ankle and a cut at the hip you should be able to reposition it far enough i think Vik.

that is the tricky part... i love the mad cat feel... i actually in parts aimed for that look... but if i now cut somethere i coudl destroy soemthing and it then is doubtful to be repaired completly... and you think the paper one is too small.. i always try to catch a scale referrence by holding an incomplete sentinel pilot for scale issues to the model...

Will it be a counts as Sentinel? In that case it looks okay I guess...
Its normally a two-seater , hence I figured it a bit too small

well the AT-ST- isn't it like 5 times taller than a guy, while the sentinel is about 3 times taller?

If you use the shape of the AT-ST- it will look like a funny AT-ST I'm afraid. The silouette is ingrained into people's minds.

You almost have to, at least settle on a rough design, otherwise you are just throwing parts together, hoping it looks good. Don't get me wrong, that can sometimes happen, but not as often as we would like.

The Princess Bride. Novel from 1973 turned cult classic film in 1987. The movie is fantastic, the book is better.

so good lads and ladies...
it is time to show you some of my recent works...
i took all your musing to heart...the legs got some serious reowrk done...well actually it was a small cut but the effect was quite pleasing...hope it will be to same effect to you too...^^
also i worked on the cockpit again... made a hatch on the top...used a SM tank hatch for this to later put a gun there...
also i now had a stroke of (at least i see it that way^^) genius for the construction of the boiler... i still had two wooden looking barrels from a recent fleamarket stroll...this is now with some bitz and PC my version of a steampunk boiler...and the best part is it has already a wooden texture on it!!!
well here are some pics... the first show the general shape of the cockpit... it is a bit lopsided...but it is my first major work with PC...after some more cruel tries of mine... and i think where when not in steampunk could you get away with the odd angle in a design?
the legs are still in the outdated fashion...
newly posed legs:
and the boiler in the making...
any suggestions...or praise...i am ot to shy to ask for the latter and too noble to wait for the former^^
