i used the glue... i used to use glue...i ...can´t make it any further...^^
well i did as promised and glued with super glue the leg part to the base... the good part: after a night of curing it is really secure bonded to the base... then i had to adjust a tiny bit that wasn´t glued on the hips...and broke next to all "bones" off... but then i used that really thin PC and made lil strips of PC and thus secured all broken off bits... this made extra texture so i am still happy with it... then i worked with the broken off hip section...that horizontal tube i used... i then dumbed this whole thing and cut a wider tube and then made a connection part to later on have the upper section connect with the legs...
later on i will show all my work...
also i yet again started a new desgin for a possible cockpit section... i am again not that satisfied with the last instalment of it... this might even turn out to be a 2 men walker...like the AT ST is supposed to be too...
and RW...yep...that last post of yours gave me exactly the same reaction that you feel ... and boy...i would never try to die by NOT using glue... so by doctors orders i will now use glue EVERY freaking day!!!
and at LDD.... so you started your blog already? just catched a new thread to follow...guy name of MAUS... and this fellow just started with his old things he has already done... see and he got me instantly hooked...so no excuses islander! get working!
cheers, vik Automatically Appended Next Post: lol shaso!!! you have the knowing!

Oh god Viktor. I just skimmed through this 147 pages of rivets, steampunk, Monty Python and mad chatting.
I'm not the biggest fan of rivets or steam punk my self but you sure make it look good.. I will keep an eye out for possible steampunk parts.
I have looked for ages after some different "capes" and you showed them to me in the beginning (from the outrider/pistolier set). Thanks mate.

well mordain...now that is a nice sight in these lands...more followers is always something not to be sneezed at^^ ...after all the first church of riveting is still in search for new members... (yep, it has advanced from a mere league to a quasi religious movement.... after all rivets are not something to take lightly...)
and speaking of rivets... i feel the urge to aply some but i am far from a point where i actually could do so...BUT
i have some pics of my current works...
the cockpit still gives me the creeps as i seem to not circle in on a shape for it... i have now printed out some papercraft patterns for an AT ST and i hopefully can use these for the cockpit...after all i will steampunk up this look so that it won´t look to fishy a mere copy...
any way...this is the new hip idea and also look to the knees... these are push buttons, usually used for childrens doll garments and similar stuff...hopefully they will look like some kind of screw/ clockwork items...
you like? Automatically Appended Next Post: thanks gerner...for compliments and for joining in on the fun...
and recently some peeps here have had to "mostly" scroll through my blog and i have the deepest respect for these steelnerved men! it takes quite a hard man to sieve through all this mess... it is far easier to just create this whole sticky upsala as i go along... having chums like dave or shaso or RW and rawson and shrike nowadays sure helps...after all one could only talk so crazy for a certain time on his own^^ so any help is greatly accepted^^
also one further thing... this build is quite hard for now...i think i will move after this to the far more chilled waters fo tank creation after this one^^
cheers, vik

You know it is amazing watching models develop as you see them as small bits stuck together and then they start to take shape and then you have something that resembles that first crazy idea that entered your mind in the first place.
This is looking way better than I first thought it would (sorry for doubting you I will beat myself and sit in the cupboard under the stairs for such heresy) but this is looking very impressive the pose looks really quite stable especially for a walker (clumsy looking things ).
The base brings the steam punk concept in more so again and has turned out well overall great job mate as for the cockpit what is it that you are struggling on ? is it design or fitting ?
As for the thread I am looking through stuff that I feel would be worth while and interesting to add to one …… but after following you lot I keep getting new idea's mostly stolen from you lot and don't do anything ……. although I am slowly working on my version of a Grot Mega Tank which has a lot of rivets so maybe when I get some where with that I will start and thats a promise HALE THE RIVET GODS ……...

Loving it so far, especially the simple but efffective paintjob on the base, and the leg joints look exactly how I'd imagined them! As always, keep it up!
and I thought I'd post a quick question here, I'm looking to make a baneblade conversion, and I want to know what thickness of plasticard I should use for the hull. I've mostly heard either 1mm or 2mm from a quick bit of research, but nothing conclusive, so I thought I'd ask all the fine plasticard converters that seem to orbit around this thread ^^

I would agree with the size reduction, but I like the shape of your cab. Where will the boiler go?
I hate to say it, but I think you have a problem with your legs. To make it look right, I think you need to get the leg/body connection directly above the leg/foot connection. That way, the center of mass will be stable. I know you like pictures, so here ya go:
Something like that. Make sense from a physics POV?
I think I agree with Gerner that you should rotate the cab, but that's just preference. It would look okay either way.

thanks my frineds... first...:
it was a try...i have these patterns for the AT ST pepakura and thought these might help me...in a way they did...
my wife said she liked the shape...but i am still not convinced...also the legs are for her too long and probably too flimsy...
so i took the patterns and cut them in paper to not waste any PC for a try...i used the unchanged version...and your overall reaction showed me that it was too big... which i had reacted to in the same way... also i still would like to make a more:
looking front screen ....
so i think this is too not settled yet...
at rawson ...
mate you are right... the current position of the legs is looking fishy...it is looking wrong for so many reasons... it looks as if the pose wouldn´t support any mass at all...more likley it could topple backwards for the sheer weight of the hips alone...lest a big cockpit and engine...
at all...:
so i think i have to redo from scratch... but i value all your all your opinions...they helped me to see myself through a decision...i have to see what i can salvage from the current build to move on to the next phase...^^
maybe i can squeeze some hobby time out of tomorrow...a bit doubtful of that as my wife and me currently are tackling some roman costuemes for our two sons... carnival is soon happining here and both kids wanted to look like a roman legionnaire... with armor and all...so i have to assist my wife with smaller tasks for her needlework^^
but rest assured...that project will be completed!

I don't really think you need to start over at all. The legs are fine if you get your cockpit looking in the oposite direction. Placing a piston between the hip and the knee, creating a triangle would help to make the legs capable to bear more weight. The only problem will be the model might be off-centered in the base, but I'm sure you can unglue the legs to fix it with ease.
As long as the cockpit is not waaaay too big and bulky, of course.
