Nothing can be more cool than a Titan Legion in 40K scale...have you ever thought of refighting the last stand of Legio Metalica in the second war of Armageddon? that would be epic (pardon the pun)

Valhallan42nd - LOL! I will admit this thread has become rather humerous at showing just how many people "read the whole thread" but didn't really read it at all.

I've READ the entire thing, only took me about 4 hours. So the answer is 14*, what do I win?

Seriously, this is a TON of fun. I agree with all the other mega kudos on building your own. I play orks because I love all the opportunities for scratch building. This really takes the cake, though, and getting the use them too! I find it a bit heartbreaking all the orky gargants that get built, but never really used because of a lack of opponents. Looks like you've got an outstanding FLGS to have than many people interested in building stuff for Apocalypse. Outstanding!

* Number of times people have lazily asked to buy one of these things. Honestly, I don't know how you could put a price on all your hardwork and effort, and if you could, would you REALLY want to sell it to the sort of person who could afford to buy it? I'd think it would be close to selling a first born, so I think that your second or third offer of a kid swap was probably the most honest.

Rise from your grave! That's right I've decided to kill of my other non-responsive thread and resurrect this one. First up a quick update for those that didn't tune into the other thread.

On 7-21-10 I dusted them off

Then on 8-7-10 I added the exhausts to one of them to get an idea for size (and to trace around them for Romeo to cut me a titan bag)

On 8-13-10 I added the headlight holder

I also built a new gun for all 4 out of the same toy we're using for the exhausts.
Original:

Comparisons

It has attachments that light up.

On 8-26-10 I added some L brackets added for armor plating.

And here's some holes for the switches and buttons

One switch for power, one for headlights (as they will be a major drain on power), the 3 buttons will control the 3 different sound effects. Shields down, exhaust noise, and weapon noise.

On 9-7-10 I finished up the armor stripping and added some armor plates to the top.

What do y'all think?

We also added a piece to the underside.
Before

After

As you can see it makes the undersides of the wing look a little more finished.

Finally on 9-13-10 I added rivets!

The space between the cockpit's hood and the reactor was looking a little bland, so I added a crew access door like the forgeworld version.

Next up I started the long arduous process of adding the electronics. Of course this means I'm getting very close to painting the beasts! Here's a shot of one of the cockpit lights!

After figuring out all the cool cockpit lights we noticed that you really couldn't see the cool lit up dashboard through the canopy so we sawed about 1/2 an inch of detail from the cockpit edges to allow the cockpit to sit flush with the back of the "hump" that holds the nose on!

In case you're wondering what the pink thing is, it's a titan holder designed from insulation foam. It allows me to work on the titans upper body with out it shifting around all the time.

We're still hoping to have these 4 guys done by Christmas with paint and everything and it's looking like that will happen. Up next is more dashboard lights, then painting the interior

grey_death - I forgot to say it on the first post but thank you for unlocking this thread!!

s.j.mccartney - Thanks! I called them last night and I should have my custom PACK Max that will carry the 4 warhounds next week. He also tried to squeeze in as many guns as he could on the trays. I'll post pictures when it gets here.

Gitsplitta - Thanks!!

Well the previous image was light number 2 in the dash board. Light number 1 is a multi-LED which has red blue and green. It's really cool and jumps around in a pattern (fast then slow so it's not seizure inducing). First up was to cut the LEDs down so they would look a little more natural in the dash.

I also painted the edges black so there would be no bleed through.

Check below for an installed pic!

The third light will be a little super bright amber light. It's really tiny so it's kind of hard to photograph.

The final light is a little green LED that really does nothing special other than look cool.

I've decided to go with a Legio Metallica scheme (as my guard army is from Armageddon) so I'll be experimenting with different reds and striping later. Before I worry about the outside colors I've got to paint the interior!

Hyenajoe - Thanks!!

That's right you read the title correctly there has been some paint applied to the warhounds, but first some more updates.

We switched from a 9v power supply to 4 AAs as it would be easier to solder differing currents but this of course created a problem with the new connector for the cool swapable guns. So we had to add a spacer to the connector.

Of course you can't build just 1 connector spacer so here's the other 3. The bolts will be shorter when it's really installed, I just used larger bolts so it was easier to line them up for test fitting.

Next up it's time to paint the dash board so the lights can be glued in. It's the first step on the road to finishing these beauties!

I found a nice Tamiya gray and loaded it into the air brush,

after a nice even coat the cut off led was inserted for a quick picture before setting them aside to dry until tomorrow night!

These are freaking awesome! Just too bad the manager over at the LA Bunker might not allow them to be used; he only wants 100% GW all the time.

l33tninj4 - Thanks! These models are GW and scratch built so they'll work fine for tourneys and GW shops.

BLACKHAND - Thanks!!

jimmy72nd - Thanks! I've posted the stuff through the thread but the resin/silicon I usually get from http://www.jgreer.com
I usually get the AeroMarine Casting Resin, and QM 128 Pourable, one gallon kit (10:1 Silicone)
The pressure pot is just a painters pot with a few hardware store dials. It'll probably be a little harder to find the supplies in the UK.

InyokaMadoda - Thanks!

Hopefully after I get off work tonight I'll get to finish the dashboards.
