Thanks for dropping in Brother Ectus, glad you like the blog. I really should start a proper bit of background, name some of the characters etc. explain why the Warp Runners are attached to the chapter as well. I will work on that on my next rainy day at work, probably tomorrow!

Thanks for all the comments guys! I am really building up a head of steam at the moment getting the Titan ready for Throne of Skulls at the end of March. I need to finalise my list and make sure all the marines I need are painted up. I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that in 1500pts with a Titan at 720pts I can't fit my lovely centurions in because my opponent just kills my meagre troops choices. So I am thinking spam troops and let the Titan take care of any thing big that needs a good killing!

Right it is update time!

I decided to use my Emperor's Wings chapter for my Throne of skulls army as it would save me some painting as I have already finished a fair few marines. In my usual style I then went and wrote a list that didn't use any of the finished models! So the good news is that this means I have been very busy making and painting some new models! time for some photos...

The Titan!



New addition, the Knight. (I have another 2 to do too)





A space marine bike squad with two grav guns and a space marine captain on bike with a power axe and storm shield. A bit beardy I know but with his artificer armour that is a toughness 5 marine with a 2+/3+ save! Add to that a scoring bike squad all toughness 5 with the two grav guns and you have a very potent unit with the captain tanking at the front.



Two 5 man scout squads as the additional scoring units.



Well I hope you are all impressed. I have to get this lot finished by Thurs next week in time for the tournament so I will be putting in the hours!

So just finished my throne of skuls army! 2am here, the Warhound and the Knight are still technically wip but certainly up to gaming standard. There is just so much detail on the warhound! Anyway here are a couple of quick photos, I will put some more detailed ones up on Monday

Very impressive! Everything looks just fantastic and the scale of the walkers is really impressive. You should sneak a regular dreadhought in there somewhere... just to make it complete!

How'd ToS go?

Well unfortunately the Gallery seems to be down or I would have had loads of pictures for TOS. Never mind they will come later then. I did quite well I thought at TOS, I won 3 and lost 2. Not bad for a list that lost every test game!

First up I played an Ultramarines list with Sicarius and Tigurius. Tig puppet mastered my Titan in the first turn which then preceded to turn and shoot at the Knight, killing it in his first turn and I had even had a go yet! Epic moment. This game was my first loss and was actually very close, at the end I had my Titan with one hull point and he had a drop pod and 3 marines in a ruin. if the game had gone on to turn 7 I would have tabled him.

Game two and I was playing Marines again, his own chapter but using ultramarines rules. He was a nice chap and I gave him my favourite game vote but he made some fundamental mistakes like landing his alpha strike drop pod with melta spam behind my knight and then deciding to shoot at my 5 man Scout Squad in a ruin to try and get first blood. They went to ground and he got neither. He ended up with one marine and two scouts at the end of the game and I had most of my force left, the Knight and the Warhound plus some other troops and my Captain, we were playing kill points so he got stuffed really.

Game three, Marines again and the first whiner of the day who felt I had an unbalanced list. Well ok it was a bit but you were allowed escalation and I would have felt a bit bad except for his list. He took 9 Land Speeder Typhoons in three squadrons, Land Raider, 2 Vindicators, Razorback with Las cannons and two 5 man tac squads and a chaplain. I'm not definite on the HQ there it might have been a captain. Wiped him out in turn three, the Titan and the Knight just demolishing his army! The knight pac manned through 6 of his typhoons with melta and close combat!

Day two and Game 4 saw me come up against my nightmare list that I was dreading facing, Greater Daemon of Tzeench with Fate Weaver and some horrors. I downed the Greater Daemon several times but Fate Weaver's reroll saved him every time! He slaughtered my ground forces from the air and the the greater daemon took my Titan in close combat! I was lucky to last to turn 5! A quick game but the opponent was a really top bloke and we both had fun.

Game 6, I fought against a sulky teenager with a pink Sisters of battle army with Guard allies. (It is the worst paint job I have ever seen but I suppose he was trying.) He mumbled and massaged his way around some dubious rules interpretations and an iffy dice roll I am sure I won and he then claimed that the picture on his dice was what he had rolled and that was a six, I am still positive that I saw a single dot but could not prove it so let him have choice of set up. I let this all slide because he was never going to win. He took 3 Sisters squads in Rhinos or whatever they call them. Celestine, 2 Exorcists, 10 man Guard squad in a Chimera, 2 Vendettas with the HQ in one and an Avenger strike fighter. He conceded on turn 5 as he had 2 or 3 sisters left cowering behind a wall and I had a Knight, Captain plus one bike, one lone scout on an objective and a full scout squad on another. He took out my titan with the air support but had to come to the hover to do it, the resulting D strength reactor melt down killed the Avenger, 1 Vendetta and took the other Vendetta down to 1 hull point as well as killing 4 of my bikes.

All in all an epic tournament with some very nice people there. I really enjoyed myself and was only a little disappointed not to win any painting accolades.

Glad you had a good time Reaper. Sounds like fun. Mini battle reports were a fun read.

Great to read, really interesting. I never get how painting is scored though, rubbish.

The Staff decided on which armies were in the best painted comp and then everyone got a vote. I wasn't even nominated. I entered my standard bearer in the single miniature cat and my Titan in the Warmachine cat but neither won. Again they were voted for by the players.

Ok so time for some pictures as the slight hiccup with the gallery seems to have been ironed out.

First up, here is my force on the day at the 1st game;

An awesome Imperial Knights Army with LEDs in the heads, he won a lot of stuff on the day.

An amazing Nids army, it won best Nids painting;









A really well painted Iron Warriors Army but he is apparently up there a lot with this army and always gets nominated for best painted, quite an accolade in it's self.;







Another really well converted Nurgle army;









This was a great army of Grots which the guy plays using guard rules, I just love the Orky Osprey!





Finally a rather nice Eldar army;



I also took a shot of my top shelf in my cabinet where my Emperor's Wings are housed, the army grows steadily and I am quite pleased with my progress but I do need to get on with all the half finished vehicles and models!



I have to apologise for some of the images recently, my camera does not want to take photos in focus, I am just looking into a DSLR with a decent Macro lens on it and we should see a marked improvement. Hope the eye candy pleases everyone and if you see your army here please feel free to drop a comment in.

Thanks guys, it did take a while to get all the pics up but I always like to show other peoples armies I see at events that caught my eye. I have some more pics of the Warhammer World museum/display area which I might pop up later on.
