It was my favourite list but after some play testing I think I have come up with a better list. I have a few more tweaks and then I'll post it on the Necron blog.

So a long time since my last update but recently got tempted and bought two of theses;



This one is still in the box but the first one is part built and undercoated!



I am planning to magnetize the weapons options so I can have all four load outs, it meant a slight compromise on what the model looked like but I am happy. This is a really great model but there are a few gotchas on the assembly! It wasn't clear to me (veteran of 28 years in the hobby!) that you had to assemble the round portions of the engine first and then insert them in the squarer bits before gluing the squarer sections of the engine pod together. Might just be me! Any way hoping to get some paint on this before the end of the week so watch this space! Ooh, also got a thunder fire cannon and tech marine which I suffered at the hands of at my last tournament, such a cool model! pics soon I promise!

Looking forward to it Reaper... appreciate the hints on construction, plan to get two of these myself.

So did some work on the Stormtalon this evening, started the cockpit!

Really love the interior of the Stormtalon. They make the cockpit so lively.

So finished the pilot and cockpit for the first Storm Talon, trimmed up and undercoated the second one. I decided to modify the second one a bit, I didn't like the assault cannon arrangement so I left off some of the parts to cut the bulk down, no pics of this today but soon....

I also undercoated and gave a bit of a silver touch up to the Techmarine and the Thunderfire Cannon;





So as usual any comments and criticism welcome, ideas too!

Using the chrome paint for some SM too? Or is it just especially shiny?

Actually that is the aircraft aluminium rather than the chrome, still quite shiny, I thought I'd try it out on some space marine models. I'm sure their weapons would be well kept espescially a tech marines. (ran out of chrome with all those necrons, I'll have to buy some more to finish them off.)

A bit more work tonight, finished up the second storm talon cockpit and another assembly point for Gits, don't glue the pilot and the centre console in until you have sloted the cockpit up into the main body or it doesn't fit!

So to the pics;

Finally I assembled most of the way with the two Storm talons (elastic bands to help them glue) you can see how I have modified the second Talon to be a bit sleeker removing a lot of the bulk of the T/L Assault Cannon.



I'll take another picture tomorrow of what I did for the skids. C&C welcome as always.

Some very good news for me to share with you all, my wife and I are expecting a little girl in December! Might be the death of my hobby though.
Oh and I should have a small update tonight, I've done a little more on the Storm Talons.

So it has been a long time since you have seen any movement on this blog but the recent Marine releases have re-energised me and I am going to complete some more models. I have bought the new centurions (hate the concept but they are now pretty much a must in gaming terms) and with a little light conversion I think the models can be improved. I also bought the sternguard, Vanguard vets, new librarian and the lord executioner model. The lord executioner will fit in so nicely with this army as he has plenty of wing detailing on his armour.

A few pics of what I have done with my first Centurion, I have left off the front groin and leg guards and cut off the rear guard over his bottom! this shows up the marine in power armour better and I thought it is only improving his armour save by one so he doesn't need the extra plates anyway.





I am hoping it will also make them look a little more mobile and put a sense of movement into the model. watch this space for more updates in the near future.

But if you leave off the groin armor.........carry on, nothing to be harmed here , nice looking storm talon. The pilots look ace.

Thanks Theophony. I really need to get on and finish them (storm talons) too, they are such nice models. I'm hoping to warm up the airbrush this afternoon.

So I have pretty much finished building the Centurions, couple of photos for you all to look at and a bit of advice.





Do you think they look better with the shoulder pads off or on? I was thinking that they looked better off myself but a friend of mine thinks they should be on as they look wrong without them. Here is a pic for comparison.
