Thanks!

I have a little progress on #2.

(When my daughter saw the above picture as I was uploading it, she said "ewww! She got two butts!" I thought it was funny and I wanted to share.)

She'll need some smoothing out, but she's coming along.
Also, I need to know which plasma pistol looks better?
A Space Marine's?

Or the plasma Pistol from Zinge Industries?

Maybe it's too early to tell for sure, but let me know what you think.

Also, I got a start on the coat. It's still removable at this point, at least until I get more of it done.

So, that brings us up to date. Thanks for looking!

Coming along nicely - I think the Zinge pistol looks proportioned better. The other looks more like a plasma gun on her!

Yeah defiantly the Zinge Industries version its the right size for her.

She's shaping up well.

I love the pose, but is it me or does it look like the knee in the back, the strait one, is odd.... i cant put my finger on it but it just looks kinda off from the pics.

as for the pistols... for now i'm not sure... i might end up ordering one of the forge world Plasma Cutters, from the boarding pack for her.... or i might steal something tau to looking a little better to size.

and just to ask how hard would it be to pull the boot tops up just below the knee and have small "knee protectors" coming up off them, let me know if i need to make that more clear or send a pic.

Thanks again for your time boss.... and everyone please keep the comments up.... love this : )

I hadn't noticed, but as I look closer at the knee, it does look off.

I can change the boots, no problem, but a pic of the knee protectors might help me see it better.

Thanks for the input! Back to the grindstone!

Sending you a picture of the boots i was talking about.... it looks like what they have done is split the turn down, so the back half turns down like normal... but the front comes up to protect the knee and looks to be a little padded... and i know your not on to final details yet... but when you do get there with the boots, could we try for 3 lines down the outside of the boots to look as if they zip up there..... O and in the pic i send.... please ignore that you can store a whip in the boots :p

Whe I saw your female commisar on ToS I honestly thought you had bought the model and converted it. Outstanding work mate. Looking forward to more progress on these

Thanks Loredragon2, I got the pics. I actually liked the whip holster idea, but if that's not what you are going for, I'll have to incorporate that into a different build!

@Nightfall - I use a 2 part epoxy compound similar to Green Stuff, called ProCreate. It's a bit more forgiving than Green Stuff, and sands easier I think. And since it is Gray, it is called grey stuff, so GS still works for a nick name. I also just got some kneadatite Brown stuff, that is supposed to set even more firm and is more easily sanded, but I haven't used it yet. I've been wait until I get to the weapons to try it.

@Biohazard - Thanks man! I'm hoping to get more work on #2 soon, but a 2 1/2 year old and a new baby will play hell on your sleep patterns and general state-of-mind.

Worked on the boots early this morning, I think they'll work, I'll get pics up tomorrow I hope. I also want to work on the hair and hat.

In the concept for #2, I had given her a braid hanging over the back of the collar. I'm wondering if that is the way to go. Or I could have the braid curling around the side of her neck to hang down in front.

Any opinions?

I'm also going to start over on the female soldier. I'm just not happy with the legs so far. I want them a bit thicker, so instead of just sculpting the pants over the armature, I want to do actuall legs first, and then add the pants over that. Hopefully it will look better. I may keep the ones I have so far to mix it up a bit, but there is too much detail in the folds of the pants to fit in with the 40k universe as it is.

Thanks for listening to me ramble. More pics soon.

i am torn between both options... could look more lara croft the way it hangs on the back like you did in your concept...but i think i´d settle for the option two and have the braid curling luciously over her breast... i think this would really bring some cool dimension to her...braids have an air of repressed sexuality... like a stereotype version of a librarian... you know... ^^ and a commissar looking like yours could really benefit from that frame of thought...

Thanks guys, and M0rdain, I agree about butts, but it was a bit OTT, but I may make a model with SERIOUS curves later, just for those that prefer a bit more meat on our gals (oooo! Maybe one of those half-naked gals lounging on a dais or something. )

Vik, I went ahead and sculpted her hair this morning with option #2, to see how it looks, I'm quite pleased. However, it can still pop right off after it cures in case the other way is preferred. If I need to try option #2, I will have to wait until after the collar is done, which will be awhile.

As I was uploading these pics, I noticed her left ear was a little fat. That has already been corrected.

Also, pics of the boots that I promised yesterday.

The back of her left boot is a bit rough, but that will be taken care of shortly.

Let me know what you think. Thanks for looking!

exactly as i pictured it in my mind mate... very cool loking... dont change a thing^^
my only concern atm is the bit grainy structure on her face... the pewter is causing this... any chance of smoothing that out or will the primer do that then?

Thanks! I hadn't looked that closely at the surface of her face. I can sand that down a bit I think. I don't want to take the chance that primer won't cover it.

I like it boss... hair looks good.... the only request i've got it that on the zipper lines, lets try a little less pronounced and ending where the back of the boots turn down... let me know if i didnt make sence....

This really is looking great boss.... thanks for putting in the work

Loredragon2 wrote: and ending where the back of the boots turn down...

Not a problem, everything is changeable, I can make the zippers less pronounced, but I'm not sure what you mean on the possition.

And with the hair, I plan to have a few stray strands of hair here and there like the wind is blowing, but that will have to wait until the hair cures.

And @ Vik, yes, blemishes would be bad. If I can't sand them down, I'll smooth the skin with GS, but that might add a whole new set of problems, we'll see where it goes.

Thanks!

Well, hey! Look what I got in the mail! A tiny package, perhaps of soap?

No! Tiny body parts...

Better put them on tiny sprues for casting!

I can seriously not overstate how small these are. Well, ok I could, but for reference, that's a resin copy of the very smallest sprues GW has on plastic kits. We are talking Rackham/Infinity scale here, though tallish towards 30mm. Very nice.

More pics after Thanksgiving when I start making the molds and pouring these!

Updates! I know it's been a while, but you know, life and all.

Commissar #2 is coming along nicely:

Her saber is even getting some work done!

And so is the base.

I even have updates on the soldier!
I have 3 heads in the works so far, the one on the left is just about done, the middle is WIP, and on the right is a sergeant head.

And this is how the legs I was working on turned out. I guess they are alright, but I know I can do better, and I have already started on the second set.

That's it for now. I was supprised I got anything done at all yesterday. I had to butcher my deer, and it took me most of the day, but I took several breaks

Thanks for stopping by! C&C is, as always, welcome and appreciated.

Super work! The commissar coming along great! Soldiers heads are looking very cool. The boots on the legs look rather odd, I think they must be too small, the rest looks good though!

@Vampirate - Thanks! I assume you are talking about the commissar. I had to re-do the hair from a week ago, it looked good before, but it was too wide to fit inside her collar. I'll be working on said collar, and the commissar hat soon.

@Vik - Thank you, now that I look at the pics, the hat does seem to be a bit small, but I'll just say she has really poofy hair. I may add a bit to the hat, but we'll see.

@ Cain - I did notice the boots were small, and these are actually bigger than the first ones! I can add to them though, not a problem. And as I look at the legs again, they need knee pads, and adding those may make it so I like them again, but we'll see. Still more work to do.

At some point in the not too distant future, I'll be starting work on some fantasy figures too. That's I'll say for now, I'll leave you guessing!
