75 GBP for a x5 squad of Nobs in Mega Armour. That is simply outragous pricing. I thought it was bad when I paid 9.50 ea for metal ones.

My Orks sadly, are my last GW investment.

A bit of everything really....... Titanicus, Bolt Action, Cruel Seas, Black Seas, Blood Red Skies, Kingdom Death, Relic Knights, DUST Tactics, Zombicide the lit goes on.............

Agreed though I think prices are beginning to approach that mythical tipping point.

They'd look kinda small. You could do wonders with bits of plasticard and some greenstuff over regular plastic boys, though.

Looks like I missed the boat on DE beasts. What Finecast I have bought has put me off it permanently, price notwithstanding. Ah well, more conversion opportunities.

Yep I think GW has been smoking the Resin if you ask me.

Some of those prices are simply OUTRAGEOUS!

Im almost done my 4th GW army. (2 40k and 2 WHFB) I'm almost 100% certain that I will never be starting another GW army based simply on Cost vs Quality.

Resin is garbage and the prices are ludicrous.

An interesting thing to note is that Tau Kroot hounds actually got a price break. Before you would pay 13.25 for 2, then again that was about 2 years ago that I bought some. Now it's 24.75 for 4. I might actually buy a few more now.

I look at all these models, and weep.

I used to carry them in my store. I think we'll get only the two necrons, and the rest is special order. Meaning crappy generic packaging and a large hit on cost. I'm ok with GW deciding they want to screw themselves and keep the models out of their own shops, but I am sick and tired of losing sales because you can't make up a decent army out of the plastics I have on my wall. The Failcast experiment has failed. I want my metal back.

Later this week I'm taking 15 ft of wall display from the GW section and giving it over to other models. Not because I have anything against GW, but because they have taken away so much product, that their line takes up that much less space in my shop.(

I just picked up my second finecast model (The Fantasy ork with the Voodoo mask character) and although it was a pretty good cast and only a few areas that needed some greenstuff I was shocked to find that the little squig that comes with him has a few short curly hairs growing out of him... I really hope they were at least from someones face and not their pants area. I had a look around and saw some threads where other people have mentioned this also... I think its about time GW make their casters were hair nets like the fast food industry... like I said I really hope it came from the face area... but I doubt it... guess we now know what the secret ingredient is in their hybrid resin!

Not impressed at all, at those prices I'd expect a model minus pubes!!!

I don't think anyone can accuse you of anti-GW bias as you've been one of their biggest supporters on the forum over the years. It does suck that their decision to turn it into finecast frequently means a switch to less attractive pricing, margins, and packaging.

Broadsides now cost £24.50.

They were barely justifiable at £18; this is just one giant piss-take too far for me.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Don't bother with GW's Mega-nobs. At $22.25 each they are a joke. Check out Kromlech's Klanking Destroyers. They are only $7.99 each and in my opinion are much cooler looking models for mega-nobs.

I think that GW is just setting ridiculous prices on Finecast so that people will not think that their plastics are overpriced. (Wow those 10 dollar plastic mega nobs are a great deal)

GW makes some great models. They are just too costly to build an army from.

Another foot in the grave. The prices on these gets really just took things to the next level.

The price to build a XV-88 is now completely ludicrous for what it does in game. And XV-88's are one of the few ways to not die as Tau.....

I pray for a whole new range of Plastic Tau when they get updated....

BUT by then there will have been ANOTHER PRICE HIKE and I will be utterly priced out of the HHHHHHobby.

Does anyone know if GW did indeed purchase new equipment for their Fine cast line

or

Did they somehow was able to reuse their old metal mold machines with this semi resin product.

My reason for asking is that years ago in my youth I did spin casting when I was making jewelry. I can see perhaps that they were able to find a way to reuse older production machinery. Fits their way of thinking.

But regardless the models are getting too expensive to purchase.

Adam's Motto: Paint, Create, Play, but above all, have fun. -and for something silly below-

Also, how does one apply to be a member of the Ultramodrines? Are harsh trials involved, ones that would test my faith as a wargamer and resolve as a geek?

QFT-- I agree, the finecast I have purchased have been flawless.

I swear GW thinks the Dec 12 2012 thing is real and are tryn to get every penny they can before the end of days.

Yes, Aun'va for $40.00. I will so totally buy that, because he is not only an awesome sculpt, but also one of the best characters in any codex, much less the Tau codex.

Oh wait. He isn't worth the few grams of resin he's cast in, nor is his character worth the paper it's printed on. Well, maybe if you have him jump off a 30" building...

Honestly, though, this is just GW doing business. They know full well that there is a point where their price increases will not be able to cover their loss of sales. What they fail (and have failed for the last decade) to realize is that you can make money if you sell a lot of product.

They are trying to maximize their model-profit ratio, and unfortunately for them, it's not going to work for very long. Mainly because their higher prices are driving those like me who cannot afford to buy models, especially with slipping quality standards across GWs miniature range.

GW also tries to hide behind the claim that "these are luxury items, you don't have to buy them, and it's an expensive hobby." Like Bioware hiding behind their "Artistic Integrity" bull, it means nothing aside from GW attempting to justify their higher prices, leaving people like me in the dust while their prices skyrocket into narnia.
