My Emperor's Children is done up with Orange as the primary color. Mostly because I wanted to do an army with an autumn color scheme and the original idea was to do a Halloween themed army (but I'm kinda glad I didn't do that in the end.)

not orange, but ive started painting alot of things yellow. i imagine orange would be a neat color to contrast and augment a yellow paint job.
btw those orange models above look pretty sharp. gj on the painting on those.

I use orange since I play a 6th company iron hands army, though the orange isn't very strong, it's just shoulder pads and other details.
I would post a pict, but they are still very much painting in progress...

The original army was going to be Nurgle. But this was done in the 3.0 codex. Giant pumpkin dreadnaughts, zombies for plaguebearers, etc. But before I got started on it too deeply the Tau were released and Chaos got put on hold. By the time I got back to Chaos, the 3.5 codex was coming out and I saw the damonetts, so I switched to Emperor's Children. At which time making the army seem Halloweenish just got further away. Instead I went in a different direction for the army coversions.

Orange is a great collor for primary or secondary collor. I have found out that if you use a collor like white or steel grey on details one can paint moddels to a good standard, I did this to a great sucsess on one of my previosly owned armies

I did sort of volcano camouflage for my first guardsmen. Black with orange camo pattern.

I have no orange models.
I highlight with a touch of orange on any red armour that isn't "dark" red... like Bezerkers or Fleshtearers.

One of my friends plays Tyranids and enjoys a "Halloween" color scheme. Base black with orange highlights makes them look appropriately creepy and halloween-ey all at once.

So, Saim-Hann should really be blacks and oranges.
I will be adding orange to my green/bone colour scheme, as red looks too Christmassy.

Amongst thoses who know these things, I think it is roughly pronounced Sow-inn, like cow-inn. Translations from Celtic (I think) seem to have more letters that they really need.
I was trying to work out a craftworldy name for 'Yule', for my greens and not-reds.
But, orange does show up well on the table. Yellow is popular for that, but often gets drowned out too easily.
Orange, when done properly, glares out at you.
