The other topic was months old so I guess I'll start a new one for their stuff

In june they released a standard bearer, Archdiacre Sariel (20.00 EUR)

And now in august they have two new models, Holy Gates Keeper St. Peter (17.00 EUR) and ArchFather Proturbo (23.00 EUR)

What makes them bad in your opinion?

Personally, I like a lot of Scibor's stuff, such as the not-custodes and not-Emperors. His gun sculpts look like Nerf ball cannons, however...

I'm definitely going to pick up a model or two from HiTech Minis to compare.

Hello,
I do like a few of their models, however for the price, no. I will pick up Scibor.

Regards,
Carl

No, spraying three colors on your minis does not count as painted! 5k+

Interesting, as always.

"ProTurbo" is a LOL name too!

Side note: could we make this thread the place for all things HiTech moving forward, instead of creating a new one each time?

Thanks!

I'm not fond of either Scibor or this.

Can we maybe keep the feedback constructive as well. Your opinion is after all your opinion but some of these comments are pointlessly harsh. It takes countless hours to sculpt mold and cast these for a small business like hitech and scibor. I think it is low to simply proclaim it crap three posts in without any intelligent feedback. You don't have to purchase them, but you also have to discourage as well. Or you can post your army that you have modeled for countless months and I will simply one line post it as rubbish so you can get the point.

I think they are definitely of a specific genre stylistically. You will either like it o hate it, but either way I am a big fan of the crisp details and hard lines they achieved. I would be curious to see these painted.

HiTech stuff is kinda hit or miss, much like Scibor. The general level of sculpting seems to stay the same, just some designs are...odd.

Id pick up a few but the price kills...as it does for many US customers. Direct currency translation from Euros or worse GBP hurts, unless the price is very low to start.

I really like Hi-Tech's "Not-Obliterators".

While I'm not a fan of the ones in this thread, I REALLY like that shield and banner. I wonder if they'll make more stuff like that and sell it separately.

well the fact that they want people to pay for them opens them as fair game for our opinions what ever they are , and its completely different to a hobiest posting there own work for feedback.

Nothing says "HiTech Miniatures" like a wonderfully detailed miniature that just has a little too much going on.

Their release schedule isn't exactly the fastest. The thread could vanish to page 5 or 6 between releases. It's probably not worth it.

I thought their obliterators were terrible (though still better then GW's) but these are definitely better. Proturbo© is even fairly good, imo.

Why, I say. I do believe that chap has a turbofan intake duct for a face. Or, perhaps that's his back. Still funny though.

Press molding may not be your thing, stylistically, but these are still pretty good figures. I don't feel compelled to buy them but I'm certainly not going to rip them just because someone used a press mold as part of their model making technique.

The relief on the banner and shield is way too prominent. Who would carry around a shield with a 3D montage on it?

And more so, who would carry a banner around that had fiberglass details sticking out of it?

Banner and shield pictures should be as 2 dimensional as possible.

Oh Jesus not this again.

Where does this elitist snobbery over "press moulds" come from?

I totally would. To the gym. Or the library.

A 3D shield makes some sense - ornate armour is deliberately fancy and has no reason to be flat. But a 3D banner, not so much - even a heavily embroidered real banner is relatively flat, whereas this banner looks more like a thin mattress

Other than that, I think these figures are pretty good, and all the nerd-rage puzzles me somewhat.

I'm from the future. The future of space

I'm not getting the nerd rage either. The models are covered in detail to the point of being busy and I find the weapons a little oversized, but other than that, they look fine.

The Holy Gates Keeper is particularly nice. The others don't grab me and I find the banner is too thick and obscures the model too much on the archangel.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

in all honesty, in the 40,000 AD , who the hell would carry a banner?

I mean really, why not make a servo skull do it?

Everyone. While leading from the front, not wearing their helmets and asking the driver of their tank to drive faster so they can hit the enemies with their swords.

These figures are an interesting mix of awesome and awful. Unfortunately, that mix is on each of the individual figures, so probably not something I'd use.

Huh. There's a guy over at Warseer that has a female Space Marine army called the Black Widows which uses the Web motif. Wonder if this was a commission?
