So, are we to take him seriously as an artist? Or is he just a petulant child with an overactive sense of entitlement?

I'll take the latter option. His handlers have probably filled his head with the garbage that he actually has talent.

More like they forget the crap and just listen to the good stuff, that being said when you're as famous as Beiber is it any surprise that you would be arrogant.

Personally im with the latter option. Should take the feth to a hardcore metal gig and throw him into the crowd. Soon bring him back to reality.

Well Yellow Submarine is intended for children and never mind that The Beatles is a much more ambitious, aesthetically appealing, creative, influential (inspired many of their contemporaries such as The Who, Beach Boys, Rolling Stones, etc as well as future bands like

Ramones) and versatile than Beiber so that is a rather dishonest comparison.

He is supposedly a man now, certainly a great many young men have given more for their Country, he is a f**king child, his arrogance is breathtaking in it's scope.

The hatred for this kid is just unreaasonable. So he's an egotistical 19 year old? Big whoop. The world's full of them, I was one once. The difference is that this one is rich and successful and people put a microphone in his face a lot or read his stupid tweets. I've got nothing against the kid, don't listen to his music or pay attention to what he says, but christ am I sick of people ranting about him here there and everywhere as if he was some sort of awful person when there are much worse bastards out there to be angry about.

I hope not. I don't mind people fading into obscurity, or being really dumb and not being followed anymore for that reason, but it always makes me feel a bit sad when someone goes the whole heavy drugs/alcohol/eventual crime route and end up in either severe health or legal trouble. I never like that happening to people.

edit: but then again they could pull a Downey Jr. after that, so it isn't all bad.

A lot of child stars go downhill quickly once the first bloom of youth fades and they find they aren't in demand for serious adult work.

It can't help also to wake up every day already being worth millions and wonder whether to go out to work.

I have no view either way on Beiber.. He is what he is. Not the first arrogant little child to be told he's special, and sadly won't be the last. He will disappear in a few years, on a downward spiral of drink and drugs most likely, to be replaced with another 'Prodigy'...

Look at River Phoenix, Macauly Caulkin et al as proof of the cycle...
