lol... my wife and me watch NCIS too... also we began to watch the LA spin off but it lacks... lacks on so many levels...

and since we have a DVD recorder we always can watch the show when we want it and get rid of the adds too... a big help^^

I have been thinking of re-creating Kharn the Betrayer. I want to make him bigger than the standard model. Think True Scale on steroids.

I want to portray him as if he were on the verge of becoming a Daemon Prince. A daemonic looking helmet, lots of spikes growing from his armor, a wicked chainaxe that is more alive than not. Intricate armor, that may or may not have actual skulls fused into the metal.

I want to use one of the possessed marines heads as a base for his head. Here is what I have as a concept so far. Any thoughts?

I'll get to work on his body soon, I hope. Like most things with me, this may take a while.

That's an interesting concept (Kharn on the verge of Daemonhood) and no doubt your interpretation of that idea will be worth the wait.

what i dont like are the earrrings... really... any look should stay away from things that make it look too busy... a good lady stands in front of her lifesized mirror and rapidly turns her head this way and that way... whatever she sees inbetween those turns in the glimpses at the mirror has to go...now imagine kharn... i bet to go out on a stylish bloodshedding spree he will skip those earrings...

El Vik, You are right on the earrings. I'm not sure why the original model had those tassle things anyway.

The living axe, I was thinking of taking the chain teeth from a Ork Nob Axe, and making a bigger version of Kharn's axe, and sculpt muscles and bone onto the axe, maybe some evil looking eyes starting out.

And thinking more about the head, I think I might just take the Bunny Ears from the original Kharn head, and add them to the evil grin head. I'll see if it makes it big enough. I may have to sculpt the ears myself.

My Kharn will not be holding a plasma pistol though. It will be holstered at his side. I may give him a second Axe to hold, or he may be holding a dead cadian or something, I don't know yet.

When I'm going to fit in time to do all of this, I don't know.

the eye with the axehead tho i think reminds me strongly of the necrotelicomincon

Even though you guys are oddly intrigued by the muscle axe idea...

Gorefather; Kharn's axe is suppossed to have the teeth of a "Mica Dragon" whatever that is, so what if as Kharn advances towards Deamonhood, the teeth of the axe actually make the axe begin to take on the appearance of a dragon? Horns, scales, stuff like that? It would still have visible muscles I think, but also patches of scales, a few horns here and there.

OK, I haven't worked on the axe yet, but I have the body for Kharn layed out, and the armature almost ready, it will just need some tweeking before I start sculpting.

Here is the head I am going with:


It is a combination of Kharn's bunny ears, and a possessed marine head. I will be adding stuff to the bunny ears, like bigger spikes, and different faces, since these got squished when I took the ears off of Kharn's old head. I might try to make some screaming faces in the blank space of the ears too. I also want to continue the rivets around the head, and sculpt some breathing tubes running into the mouth area.

Here is the body with armature. You can see how tall he is going to be. Going to use and Ork arm as the bare arm holding the axe. I think I'll use a terminator arm for his armored arm, if it's big enough.


He looks kind of goofy right now, but all of the empty space will get filled in, and most likely complely covered. I'm just using the existing armor as filler.

Can't waitto see how he turns out. What are you going to do for the back pack?

I want the backpack to be huge, I guess I'll have to make it from scratch. Or at least a heavily modified standard one.
