the armature looks very cool... ork arms a re a good starting point... the only issue i have atm is the base size... definatly use a 40mm one...!

El Vik, I don't know if I should put him on a 40mm base, since the normal Kharn is on a regular base, i think I should keep him on the smaller one. I am not giving him any different stats, just a different look.

Although, I might make him running, and just have one foot on the base, and it might not look ok then. We'll see.

hmmm... you could base him on a big peice of slate then...this might help to get the composition of base to model better in line...

i think something needs to be done with the helmet to make the Khorney bits have a more smooth transition to the head, like they are all one. but this looks cool

Just need to stretch the lower leg guards so they look the right size for a Daemon Prince!

I've been working on it, and I am going to have to re-sculpt the entire thing. I'll try to make it look similar to the original Kharn, but he will look like he is approaching Daemondhood.

It's getting taller and taller though. Taller than I had planned, but it will be cool.....I hope.

At this point, I don't know if the head I have planned will look right. It might be too small.

I got some done on the conversion. But first I want to show you the concept sketch for the axe:


And on Kharn, I mostly filled in the gaps and started on the feet:


He looks kind of Goofy at the moment, but please have patience, this is a LONG way from being done, I basically want to sculpt new armor for him from top to bottom. Where the Ork Nob arm is right now, that is where the chest armor will go to, it will be huge! After I get the armor rough sculpted in, I plan to go back and add all sorts of skulls and screaming faces into the armor. There will be LOTS of skulls on chains, and spikes and all things daemonic all over him. I might be able to use this model as a Daemon Prince when I'm done, but mostly I want it to represent Kharn as-is. I guess you can call this a true scale Kharn, as I think he would be much taller than the average Chaos Marine anyway.

However you look at him, this will take a while.

the model as it looks good... exception is the pose....as this looks too much like an action figure^^

but the head turns out very cool already... and i have noticed the feet...big for that!

and if you can make the axe look half as cool as in the sketch ...awesome!!!!!!!

I think I am actually going to scrap this project. Among other things, I lost the head. Don't know where it could have gone. But I was also not liking how tall it was. I want something just a little bit taller than the actaul model. I shouldbe able to salvage the armor I used for armature, and start over. And if I can't find the head, I'll make a new one.

On a different yet related note, I played my first game of 40k since 1995 Yesterday!!!!

None of my army was done of course, in fact, several of my berzerkers didn't even have arms! But I was able to scrape together 3, 8 man squads of Berzerkers, a squad of Plague Marines that I just got a a present the day before, my half-finished Daemon Prince, the headless model of Kharn that I had left over from my kharn project, and 3 rhinos.

I faced Necrons. I had heard bad things about how shooty they were, and that they could be bad news for Chaos. I was a bit scared. I had some bad rolls, and if the bad rolls had continued, I would have seen a different outcome, I am sure, but by the grace of Khorne, I did in fact win! It was an awesome game! I am so excited to play again! In fact I spent the wee hours of the night last night trying to get another squad of Berzerkers together!

Sorry to hear about losing the head. I will say that the concept was sound (and I still do) but the application seemed to be bugging you. Glad to see you moving on to somehting else. This can always be revisited.

Congrads on the win! But dude, stop playing for 2 weeks and forget everything you just learned. 6th Ed is here in just a few days and you don't want to pollute your brain with the old edition by playing it right before you get to 6th ed.

No worries, I already forgot all of the rules I did learn.

I had to borrow dice, but I just bought some. I'll be set for next time!

I hope some of the 'complaints' I've read about 6th Ed. are true, because I'm looking forward to mixing things up again.
