BrassScorpion wrote:Okay, let's make this simpler. The "Mystery Box" is so named because it's supposedly a mystery. The Bugman's Game is not a mystery, it was already advertised in White Dwarf magazine with pictures. This, therefore, makes it unlikely to be the "Mystery Box" to be unveiled for the first time in Germany this coming Saturday.
So the mystery is that they're expanding the sales of the Bugman's game to Germany, which makes sense, given they love beer as well. I guess the next big thing will be bringing it to Australia, as we drink heaps of beer as well. America will have to wait though, I guess, as they drink expensive water that's coloured like beer.
This is all great stuff Scoprs. Keep us informed when you learn more.

Just so everyone knows, I was just kidding....Yes I have the White dwarf, that is why I was making fun of it.
It was clear that you were kidding. Some others, not so sure. Oh, and I'm not taking the bait from the troll above. Why does every forum have someone like that? I've never insulted anyone here or given anyone a hard time no matter what I thought of their posts here. Civil discussion on forums tends to attract jerks and bullies for some reason.
I guess it's partly frustration, but just like the thread on this topic before it and just as I posted early on in this thread, there has been virtually no useful information posted here. This thread has proven to be near useless as far as any real information appearing in it. Just jokes and idle speculation. Fortunately, this will likely end on Saturday.

But seriously. I think the WTF box is going to be filled with new minis of female space marines, along with their own codex.

Or that we think they have. If it turns out to be Space Hulk it'll be just like everything else they do - we sorta knew about it, but weren't 100% sure. Note that this applies to rumours and to official releases. GW gives so little away even when they're being transparent that them telling us what they're about to do sometimes feels like a stab in the dark.

No Fantasy Flight Games product. Meaning, possibly, that it is a GW product.

Hey reds8n, got any info on that Dark Heresy-related pic? I don't think it has anything to do with the mystery box, but more to do with a DH 2nd Edition in the same style as the newly announced WFRPG 3rd Ed.
And that has me terrified.

Sadly I agree with you on pretty much every level there.
I am sure that is nothing to do with the mystery box. Which, I still think, is Space Hulk.
My worry having seen that pic would that FFG would perhaps not see it as viable to support two pretty much identical versions of a game, especially if they have a fuller control over one of them, seeing as they have done all the design work etc for one of them rather than inheriting it as they did with DH.
I've noticed, as I'm sure you have too-- unless I'm confusing you with other posters on here-- that the PCs in RT seem much more powerful and competent than even fairly experienced PCs in DH.
Looking at the new WFRPG and other recent games the current trend in games design to my eyes is much more towards more powerful PCs even at lower levels. I haven't played it but I keep hearing things like 40 HP 1st level characters in D & D 4th edition. DH really does go against this, perhaps even too much, especially given the gakky weapons that a lot of the Pcs start off with.
I have also heard some complaints and grumblings that the current DH game doesn't quite do what a lot of people thought they'd be able to do : which is pretty much play Harlon Nayl or Patience Kys or other Inquisition novel characters straight away. And they do have kind of a point, I do think the psykers powers at lower levels are often almost useless and not helped by his crappy weapon options and so on.
I apologise for the way this rambles, bad hangover.
So... I'm wondering if we might see the DH books, ,post the ones they have said are coming out, maybe moved to electronic pdf format-- like the WFRPG stuff ( the last few releases of that delayed hugely too.. oh, like the DH books !) -- whilst a new DH box set descent type game is unveiled. Obviously as the original DH and the forthcoming RT -- an entire chapter on navigators ! -- systems are compatible they could then keep producing books for RT which would, handily, also be compatible for the DH RPG as well, whilst selling the new improved DH board game type affair as an introductory set.
I hope this isn't what happens, and the snap is merely some thing amateur thing for someone's own game or a demo maybe.
