well someone has to do some painting or you'll have nothing to comment on!!!. Lol. Well no painting today as I'm off out soonish for beverages and birthdays. My friend is 25 or 27 maybe somewhere in between I cant remember.

Feel pretty fuzzy 2day. but not to worry. Sudden inspiration for what to do with my inquisitor. He will be peachy biege and a warm purple with red green yellow and gold detailing. I want to take my time over this and get it lookingreally as good as I can. Maybe do some tiny checkered stripes on his shoulder pads or something else like that. Maybe even give him a back banner?

Well I've worked out all the basic colors, done a wash and started highlights. I'm not quite sure about him yet. I might have overdone the purple. What does anyone think about the colour scheme?

Well i like the colour scheme especially your red to yellow knee blending, thee green book and tube thing is a nice contrast to the purple, purity seal looks ACE! are you gonna put lettering on it. Not sold with the yellow on the strm bolter housing, looks a bit lemony at the moment, gold skull is very dramatic, but if your unsure about all the purple , i would change the light above his head to match his lower legs, and the inner metal hood that is purple to a more complimentary colour like the gold maybe, but since i hardly paint i am not the best for advice!! i like him though! and i am celebrating i just won 21 oldschool imperial army dudes plastic for my diaroma yay! sorry just a bit excited!! btw have you sobered up yet

Yep sober and croaky. I Think I will make the bolter a bit warmer - to match the knee insignia maybs. And change the inner hood poss. Had to change the color of the mask a few times, first time round it was bright red and looked silly. Then I went for dark blue but I just couldn't resist changing it again. The purity seals will get writing on them - remind me if I forget as I am liable too.

I think change the armour hood to match the shins and shoulders if you want to lose some of the purple, and you probably will if you're warming the bolter up, which I think you should
So yeah, do what you were going to, hope that helps

One thing I would say is the gold detail merges a bit with the shin pads, maybe darken the area around the detail with sepia?

Oh my goodness, time, time... distractions are everywhere. I can't believe I once led an existence that was: sleep-class-studio-bar-repeat, now I'm lucky to squeeze a few hours desk time in a week.

Psycannon - thats what I need - well I suppose thats why I got him cheap cos he is missing his gun. One day I might spot one separately some where and snap it up.

Ambull - well In some ways I could say having plenty of time is a symptom of my lack of drive and ambition in life, so you can say that you have more of that than me! I like it that way though. Slower pace of life and all.

Getting rare and unusual minis is pretty random and involves a lot of searching - and to get the really rare ones I have been forced to abandon my policy of buying cheap. There was just no way in hell of getting a RT techpriest for less than 7squid as they are in demand and in low supply. Don't forget bob olly either - he used to sculpt for GW but now he is freelance and I buy things direct from his website. Very cool minis

well heres an update - I've been fiddling around with his hood and started detailing the shoulderpads, darkened the gold, and warmed up the gun. Not much else got done. I will have to ponder what to do next tonight. Maybe he will be finished soon. I want to drill his barrels but my pin vice was cheap and now its broken - hopefully the replacemet will arrive tommorow.

I've payed for the kiln and a load of clay and glaze and its arriving in 9 days so i will do up a whole pile of mug designs and stuff in the meantime to get fired when it arrives.

He really looks good... I like that mini, the hood adds the tiny "grimdark" touch for the 40k universe...

Sorry I didn't notice this before, but... Could you drill the barrels out?

Yep, still looking good. Is it the light or have you done a re-paint of the shoulder ? The detail looks silver and the pad looks lighter, but that could easily be the light.

I think its just the light. I think I added extra highlights but it doesn't make that much difference.

More like maxing out an overdraft than raising funds really! but I'm confident I can pay it off soonish. And its still free till august cos I was a student not so long ago. I will have to get some commissions and stuff to raise dollar. Maybe sell some of the GW stuff I seem to have ended up with which I don't want to paint - loads of plastic space marines, some of them RT. Crossbowmen, goblins, plastic... (I'm a metal mini snob)

Hey Weety he 's looking real nice , i notice now his shoulder and legs are white, i thought they were a pale gold,(light and my monitor) i think the white gives him more class, i also like his I symbol on the hood , nice detailing! the gun looks Great with the orangey red blend , and his hood is a cool blue now!
i also notice the weathering on his book and the text on the scroll! Graet stuff , he is becominga real character. are you still planning on any chequers on him?
