A while back, I did some Salamander Movie Marines for a friend of mine. I thought I would share them here. If anyone is curious about how I painted them, I did a tutorial you can find by clicking the {link}.

First up is the Tactical Squad and Rhino Transport.

After I painted the Squad and transport, my friend decided it would be awesome to have a detachment to use in regular games. So he brought me a Contemptor and a Command Squad. The Captain is converted from the Huron model from Forge World, and the Command squad is equipped with Boarding Shields.

Hope you folks like them. I sure do!

I love the use of the WoC bits, especially the torso on the tactical sergeant in the first pic.

That's simply what they started out as, and I think that's what they will be used for most of the time.

I would like to echo Kessler's question and point out that this did not at all make it more clear.
What are Movie Marines? What movie are they in?

Movie Marines are a set of rules GW released a while back to make marines work on the table like how they are in the fluff (i.e. tough as nails, each guy takes on an army).

I think you only got about 10 and a transport in a 1500pt army or something like that, but they were absolutely nails.

On topic, these guys look great and would make a great start to an ordinary Salamanders force, not just the movie marines!

Yea they were T6, their combat knives had rending...bolters were absolutely devastating and cant remember rules on the assault cannon but you can only guess at it being able to destroy anything... Ten guys with a rhino and dread i believe, i used them once against an entire 1500 pt ork army and won, just like the movies

well except for the Dawn of War Intro movie...marines KDR was 1/1? against ORKS??? terrible...

They look good, although I definately think that if you are going to use those heads, it would be a missed opportunity if you didn't do flames or lizards on their faces.

great work! I love the helmets the best, although the CS looks really sturdy with their shields. I wouldn't want those guys breaching my airlock!

Finland... the country next to Sweden? No! That's Norway! Finland is to the east! No! That's Russia!

I had this idea a couple of weeks ago and thought I could share it. The new GW Agrellan Earth paint would make perfect scale armour or scale cloaks or anything scaly in a Salamanders army.

Sweet Jesus, Nurgle and Slaanesh in the same box!?
No, just Nurgle and Slaanesh, Jesus will be sold seperately in a blister.

Fantastic sallies! Very curious though, where are the combat shields / storm shields from?? I've been hunting some myself.
