i've never run into a gamer fight, but i have seen a few almost get knifed after making the girl who was always armed rather upset somehow.

I saw a really nasty fight at the FLGS recently. I was watching a little tourney, between a 12-year-old kid (playing Spase Marienz, duh), and one of the store staff (these are non-GW guys BTW). The kid tries to say that because Chaos Terminators have power weapons and not power fists as standard, loyalists must as well. Staff member calmly shows him both the Space Marine and spiky Marine codecies, but the kid wouldn't stand for it.

Picking up the hardcover rulebook (a really solid thing, that), he hit the FLGS staff member in the face and broke his nose. Suffice to say the rest of the crowd in the battlebunker weren't happy. We LITERALLY threw him out the door.

There is a guy at my local GW who is known as Taylor, cos he waits for you to get your army out before choosing his list.

It certainly lacked discretion, but the guy stopped and didn't think it was funny anymore after choking for a while. I was in my twenties then.

I think today, I would handle it differently but it did happen. I have never seen the guy again, not sure I would even recognize him.

Same kid, I helped run the league for the gaming store and a rule we instituted was we used the full scope of missions available (3rd ed) but each player could choose to re-roll the mission once. This was put into place to stop the possibly footslogging army having to run the Gauntlet, etc.
Well I am playing the Altioc Ranger Army and he has a fast Space Marine Army. We roll a mission he doesn't like so he takes his re-roll. We then roll night fight which would basically screw me over. I go to re-roll and he says "If you re-roll that mission I will deck you". I give him the "go ahead and try it" look but I decide it's not worth it and just tell him if he tried to hit me I would lay him out but we'll play the mission for S's & giggles. I still trounced him.

If you are so angry you feel like resorting to physical violence it's time to take a step back. The game is part of a hobby and should bring enjoyment into your life. There was only one time I was so angry I felt angry to punch my opponent. It was in the final round of a tournament and we were on one of the top tables. My opponent was cheating so bad that the TO came over to our table and remained there for the last two turns In an attempt to keep my opponent in check. Other players were coming over to watch and told him to stop with the crap he was trying to pull. When the game was over the TO had to total my opponent's victory points I had earned. It was a very close game and won a minor win by the bare minimum, one point away from a draw. My opponent became extremely vocal saying he had been cheated and his little band of followers decided to join in the act. The TO would have none of and stuck with the final outcome. I was ready for my opponent to retaliate but then I realized he was just another big bully. I had to eventually laugh. It was one of those games we are glad rarely ever occurs. Later I was told my opponent joined the military the week following our game and was shipped out of the area. We were all very glad. It is one of those games I will never forget. I have lost my share of the really close ones but I will always be in debt to the TO for stepping in when he did and putting an end to all that monkey business.

A friend of mine playing at my apartment once punched a hole in my wall when he forgot to assault with his seraphim.

You would be surprised how common this is, go take a look at the B&C forums for Khorne and you'll find a bunch of players who do something similar. (Me included, I mix it into the red gore paint.)

I once came close though when I was playing some french kids at the local club, when they started harasing me for being english.

Just tell them Montcalm was a (the rude word for heifer) and that Wolfe made them go down faster than a 16 year old on prom night.

While it is a bit weird, you got remember something. Once it's all been sealed, there is no hazard involved. You know have a model you nonestly put your BLOOD, sweat, and tears into. I say to anyone who is crazy enough to do this.

I was working at GW meadowhall when some chavs decided to disrupt the evening game. I and my colleague both politely asked them to leave. When they refused Bolly stepped out from behind the counter.

His other hobby was powerlifting, he worked as a bouncer to bring in extra cash and had forearms as big as my thighs. The first words out of the kids mouth were "ooh, look who's stepping up to have a go!" At this point I just shook my head as I expected there to be claret everywhere within seconds.

Fortunately for the kid in question his mates had half a brain cell between them and wisely backed off, taking the suicidally inclined one with them.

Never really seen a punch up over a Wargame. I've run into spolit little brats, sure, but I've never seen physical violent inflicted.

A girlfriend I had a few years ago loved playing Warhammer 40k and Warhammer I was in heaven a chick who actually played Warhammer but the only thing that riled me was her dick of a ex Boyfriend/fiance/thing now when we were down GW he would always glare stare whisper rile me right up but being the better man i stayed calm played my games tabled my opponents shook their hands painted socialised and basked in a life that was fun.

Then one day this dick who we will call steve walks up and goes I challenge you to Warhammer im like cool sure its a game then he adds for the hand of your girlfriend.

I never laughed so hard i laughed and i laughed and i laughed suffice to say other comments like "I am as secretive as the Dark Angels followed" oh the mirth oh the laughs

oh the barefaced sadness of it all........

But hey all in a days Warhammer i spose lol

WHY??? for the love of god GET SOME HELP!

This whole concept of painting your models with blood is wierd. But it apparantly is more common than we think, as we had a guy in Florida that painted his Korne army with blood. I think he ended up getting banned, but I could be wrong on that.
