yeah, not that one, lol. there is no DEFINITE answer but the only TW model (canis) uses the dread base (60mm) and the closest unit in 40k (chaos demon bloodcrushers and jugger models) do to.

They are probably sculpting that knowing people are going crazy for large wolves at the moment . Its certain company's make bitz with GW in mind .

Here's some pics using d&d and hordes wolves figures for comparison. Sorry for the fuzzy pics, took it w/ a camera phone. I will try taking better pics if requested

the Hordes mini and D&D winter wolves look a lil too small, or out of proportion to have the Space Wolves mounted on top. That being said however, I think the Direwolf is a perfect balance of size and proportion to the Space Wolf sitting on top

I wish they had that Dire Wolf in multiple poses, because the size is perfect. I might mix it up with the DW, one of the Hordes model, and some of those Russian made models if they are available again soon. That will make the models in the unit more unique instead of 5 wolves all looking the same with the riders all looking very different.

maybe i could use some tyranid warriors as TW. just add some bionic in the head that prevent contact with the hive mind.

There taller then Space marines and all you have too do is add a saddle and a rider( what better then werewolves in armor with weapons as a mount)

Has anyone found anything official at all about the wolves? Actual models coming out? I'm assuming that the people earlier are correct when they say that the regular cavalry will be the same size base as the character.

Does anyone know about regular wolves and cyberwolves? Are they smaller variations?

My buddy uses Chaos hounds for normal fenris wolves, or for proxy calvary. For his cyberwolves and things he uses D&D direwolves. for his HQ he used a toy wolf and modeled a SW on top of it, works out well

I almost feel like getting some cheap DnD minis and adding some marine torsos with green stuff legs, but I have this feeling like as soon as I finish them official ones will come out that are a different size or cheaper and better looking.

Beware four legged creatures of the fantasy realm, Spacewolves are going to try and ride you.

I have 2 ideas now. First is Star Wars mini scrap golems (with an extra wolf head)



Next is Armorcast's Warbeast

This is inaccurate. They have sold at least five or six lots of 80 since I posted about them. Give it a week or so and I expect another lot to be posted on ebay.

Could always try a forgeworld rhinox to make a mega wolf rider.

Direwolves look good, and KK your direwolves dont look like direwolves at all or even match the theme of a TWC.:/

Laris from Circle of Orboros from Hordes works pretty well. I made mine Thunder kitties so they ride High Elf Lions from the white lion chariot.

FYI - Threadnomancy is much less of an issue in the Painting and Modeling Forums, though oftentimes you're better off PM'ing the OP if has been a long, long time since they last posted.
