Thanks!! I made an attempt to add a belt to the coat but was not happy with it so removed it again, Ill have to read some tutorials on belt sculpting and give it another try.

Looks interesting. My main problem with is with the nose; the bottom looks very flat to me, not very plane-like. Maybe you could add the third set of lascannons under there, apache-style?

Khaine, I did not want them to look like a full-fledged plane, I agree it looks very flat, but a Grot build "air" plane might as well be a flying Brick.
ZacktheChaosChild wrote:I love how this is coming along.
Thanks Zack!!
So I have been quiet,... forgot to take pics during the final build stage.
I went to a Tournament (did not required painted armies) to test my army.
My Army was only sprayed black and even that looked crap ad I only managed to spray the top of most models
The replies I got from everyone there gave me a moral boost that will last for years!!!!! I was amazed by all the replies
But also It gave me a lot to think about...... PAINTING!!
I wanted to paint my army in the below colors VMC German Grey, with Red and copper details/armour plates etc etc.
However, One of my opponents pointed out that she believed that the grey will be to dark and that I should reconsider my choice of grey.
So I would like to hear your opinion
The Grots will be painted in various browns and copper to give them that steampunk look.
So should I or should I not paint the Vehicles German Grey?
Thanks,
Cheers

So after some time I finally decided which color I wanted to use.
I decided to use blue as the main color for my vehicles, (Tamiya TS-15 Blue) 1 coat over a chaos black basecoat.
Which looks like this
The blue looks thick on some spots for some reason.
I started painting a turret I sprayed blue this weekend.
after half an hour it looked like this
I still have lots to do, I only painted rust to get an idea of the effect, and have given the Multi-laser a Beatencopper base coat.
Let me know what you think I'm not much of a painter and really need motivation to keep this going,.....
Thanks for looking,
Cheers

Ah, there is just no way you can't love a grot rebellion! Have you taken in mind of using gnoblars for something? Just a thought I had...
And also, If you are going to use sentinels, please use Grot tanks. They are just too cute. I might have to buy them myself.

If I ever use Sentinels it will be Grot tanks indeed, who knows what the future brings.....
The Officer of da fleet is a gnoblar, decided against using other gnoblars, as they are to small

Make sure you post pics of the stolen ideas
So I guess this will be the last update for some time.
I'm buying a house and that is almost finalized, getting the Key next month.... So I had to start packing.
The grots are now boxed, I made a group shot of everything I have for this army now. (- 2 chimera's)
In other news there will be more Grots when I return with the Rebels.
I decided to remove some upgrades and one chimera and add an infantry platoon.... So 25 more grots will be joining the ranks......yeah more painting
Hope to be back ASAP with some updates.
stay tuned.
Cheers,

Thanks!! and very true more groups SHOTS!!! but for me it's the feedback that keeps me going, so many positive reactions here and irl, I played two tournaments that allowed sprue grey armies and at one of the Tournaments I scored the WOW factor (4pts) for "painting" The painting judges had a discussion .....can we give an army that's not painted the WOW factor based on only conversions? and the answer was yes that made my day, some actualy argued with the judges because I scored 10 out of 20 only with my bases, conversion and wow factor......that made me smile even more.... I'm really looking forward to be able to put this army fully painted on a table and I'm curious of many points I will score then.

So after almost a year I finally finished my apartment (only a few more things to take care of) and finally having internet meant it was time to dig up the grots again.
to be honest I had to be given a push..Balephon and Thalenchar (two friends of my) were discussing a 1000 pt paint challenge, 6 weeks to paint a thousand points...
I would only accept I Thalenchar would update his blog weekly with our painting progress, unfortunately for me he accepted that challenge...meaning I would have to start painting :shifty:
My camera is still hiding in a box somewhere, and my photo studio is MIA as well.
So for now I can only provide you a pic taken with my mobile.
I slapped on some German grey and Heavy blue to see if I liked the combo and I must say I'm happy with the scheme,
sorry for the crappy pic but that's the best my mobile can do.
Hopefully more pics next week, now i'm off to find the studio and camera, and start painting some copper.
Thanks for looking,
Cheers

Good morning Dakkites
So Yesterday was officially the first day of our Farewell 5th edition painting challenge.
I took one of the Vet Sergeants and tried some battle damage, the pics don't justify the effect, but looking at the pics I could tell I need to sharpen the edges a bit.
though for someone who does not enjoy painting and rather avoid it at all times, I can't complain with the table top quality thus far (from at least 30cm distance that is )
I found my Camera, still no clue where my portable photo studio is, anyways on to the pics
Funny how that damage looks awesome from 30cm distance but with a close up looks like.....sjeit...:shifty:
Thanks for looking,
Cheers,

Storag, what motivation do you need to continue with your own clan? Do I have to use my grotprod to zapp some motivation back into you? got any pics of your models?

Thanks Squiqsquasher!! I'll those names in mind thanks!
Now on to today's update
it's week 3 of the Farewell 5th edition and i'm behind!!! (not really a surprise to those who know me)
Diablo 3 saw it's release and well I guess most of you can guess what happened......
the last few days however I have been painting.
I've been weathering a chimera, (from a short distance this looks fantasic IMHO, close ups don't justify the overall look)
on to the pics
Top without turret
top with turret
right side
left side
and the back
So what do you think?
On the right I have painted the rivets boltgun on the left I haven't, not convinced yet.. Any suggestions?
I'm still going to work with pigments (dust and mud) still have to do the tracks and armour plates and various other bits.
C&C appreciated
Thanks for looking
Cheers,
Bra' tac
