@Lord Kaesar II: Make it so!

@Blitza da warboy:
1) What *exactly* does an Ork Trukk *look* like - they are supposed to all be unique, ramshackle snowflakes - I'm sure your idea will fit in splendidly!

2) Your post *is* your sign up! Well, your potential intention to sign up anyway - we wouldn't want to scare of da spektatas! I'll be taking "official" entries closer to the deadline. In the meantime - remember your first post in this thread - it will dictate your pole (poll ) position in the voting... (and possibly which "heat" you are in, depending on the number of entries...)

Yep, i know you looted the grill idea. And the driver wasn't painted before but I got crap about it and he's got green skin now. Once I get to Washington, the building of my supa-wagun will begin.

Did you guys know Canada has a friggin desert?

@Arakasi: Awesome, soon im going to buy me some kits and build meh a trukk! (I think this would be the 8th project I have going on at the time...)

You're not playing the game like I play it...why aren't you playing the game like I play it?! O_O

I have 3 questions:
1 How game/tourney legal must the trukk be?
2 What are the rough dimensions of the "average" trukk?
3 How close to the official model do entries have to be in size?
The reason being, I don't have a current trukk to compare against or a codex and I would like to find this information out before I get to far on my ex-quad gun tractor with kitchen sink.

I'd think it would need to be explainably wysiwyg. That is, if someone points at something and says "What's that?" you need to be able to tell, and it can't be a Killkannon or something (unless it's a Guntrukk, or from a fandex, or...) You know what? They're Orks. You should probably just go crazy with it.

Trukk- smaller than a Battlewagon, bigger than a Buggy. Which Battlewagon, and which buggy, well, that's up to you.

See above.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

If yer an Ork, why dont ya WAAAGH!!

So you should and so he should! It's the only thing letting down an otherwise fine Trukk. Looking forward to da supa-wagun!
Blitza da warboy wrote:I think this would be the 8th project I have going on at the time...
Only 8? What kind of Big Mek are you?

@ChaoticMind: The main vote will be put to DakkaDakka - vote for the best Trukk. I would think rule of cool should win out here, but I can't guarantee anything! So, in answer to your specific questions:
1) As game/tourney legal as you like. If there is enough interest in a game/tourney legal category it might matter for that category only - but overall, I imagine not in the slightest - what *are* you thinking of doing?
2) I'll have to measure next week (or perhaps a kindly Dakkanaut will provide) I'll also see about getting the dimensions of Warbuggies and Battlewagons for comparison... (good way to differentiate Anvildude!)
3) See 1) above, substituting "game/tourney legal" with "close to the official model in size"

I think Anvildude (thanks!) explained it as well or better - I'll see about putting up the Codex entries/descriptions along side some dimensions for Trukks - and Warbuggies and Battlewagons for comparison. I can even source IA8 for Gun Trukks, Flak Wagons etc

Hope that helps!

Keep Trukk'n!

Thanks for the rulings Arakasi makes my life 10X easier , right now I'm thinking Big Shoota, Rokkit Launcha, Red Paint Job, Grot Riggers, Stikkbomb Chukka, Armour Plates, Boarding Plank, Wreckin' Ball, Reinforced Ram and Kitchen Sink. Yes a Kitchen Sink, I will make one come Hades or high water.
Currently I have the Big Shoota, Reinforced Ram, excessively long tow cable and official battle wagon for size.

Now my entry as of 16/7/11.

Update on my entry.

Comparison pics here.

Hi guys as you probably know my trukks are pretty much built and mostly painted already, I'm hoping to get around to doing some weathering on them and other finishing touches. They are mostly scaled up versions of the old trukk model to almost the size of the current gw trukk.

Arakasi if Imperial Armour trukks are on I might have a go at building some of those.

@monkeytroll & ChaoticMind: Lookin' good!

@Wazzdig Dagga: I had sadly forgotten about your awesome Trukks! They look really nice lined up together like that - a feat I hope to replicate with mine! The competition is open to existing *and* new Trukks - just means you have a head start! The competition is also for anything Trukk related - so Imperial Armour Trukks are most certainly on!

Haven't managed to convince anyone to do a Trukk Stop yet though...

you know, I'd join, but I don't really do Trukks. Though... I might have to make a Steampunk Trukk...

And get a camera. dangit.

Well, if you needed a reason to do a Trukk, I'd hope this thread might inspire you. Your pole position is held from your first post in this thread should you choose to join in - and with still over 11 months left to run - there is plenty of time to make up your mind! As Matt.Kingsley pointed out above - Trukk related is fine too if you have other strengths or projects that need some focus. Failing that - there is nothing wrong with being a spektata - spurring on the other participants or quietly enjoying whilst drinking squig brew...

@Santobell - I though you were doing a(nother?) transforming Trukk?

This is a great idea, I may need to buy some ork trukks to build...

Not that I play orks now, or am likely to in the future... but worse case scenario I can donate it to someone who likes it

What's to approve? Sounds "Trukk related" to me Now what we *really* need is for someone to enter a Mega Bomma or Ork Landa converted to transport Trukks like the Rave Guard Thunderhawk Transporter with Rhino into *both* competitions

Automatically Appended Next Post:
@Santobell - Nothin' wrong wiv 'avin options!

@slice'n'dice - Nothin' wrong wiv ownin' a Trukk. How about some 'Nid infested Trukk wreckage terrain/objective?

Now,today wot we's lookin' at is known as der Orks-klaw style. Dis 'as 4 stands-eres, one fer each of ya fingas, and den anovva one fer ya fumm, makes up an ork's klaw see. Each of dese stands-eres is made by an ork-u. You've probly seen ork-us before, dey has 3 lines, and goes 4 silly-bubbles, 4 silly bubbles den lotsa silly-bubbles.Well, der 4 finger...yes, SnotGrub, wot is it?
Wot's a silly-bubble? We did dis last time..oh yeah, so you woz.
Well yousecan catch up from SnagToof after, but really a silly-bubble is der bit of noise we makes when we says somefink. Yes, speakin', but da little bitz of speakin innit. Like, 'ork' is one silly-bubble, and 'Orks is da best' is, err..orks..is..da..best...4 silly-bubbles. Deys called
silly-bubbles coz when 'umies make dose comix dey put da words in silly bubbles ova da top of da pwetty pictures. Got it?
Right den, so we 'as 4 ork-us making da fingas, den a backwardsy ork-u fer da fumm, wherewe goes lotsa silly-bubbles, 4 silly-bubbles, 4 silly-bubbles.Hmm, p'raps an example would be agood idea.
Right, dis is a klassik, probly 'eard some of it before, Rumble-Krump by Warlord Zoo of da Red Sunz klan...

Rockin' n' rumblin' toward da krumpin'

Shiny yella

Da charga roars
Wreckin' ball swings
Metal groans across da battered land

Krumpin' done good n' da battle is won
Mekz n' grotz look
For bits, for trukks

Movin' ain't it? Hur, hur, movin'.
Right, well SnagToof, what does ya fink dat...."

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Well if nothing else Dez, we seem to have discovered a remarkable method of pausing a thread

I'll try to avoid Ork Poetry 101 for the next bit of fluff, but be warned I fear there's more to come from that search

Ok,Ok, I'll post some WIP piccies if that's what you really want

Almost had the 'window' section the other way round, facing up, would have given room for some more shenanigans inside the cab, but decided to keep the deformed 'speeder styling.

Yes more pics less poems though a funny example I'm reminded of the Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy and the Vogons when I think about Orks doing peoms.

Vogon Poetry is described as "the third worst poetry in the Universe". The main example used in the story is a short piece composed by Jeltz, which roughly emulates nonsense verse in style. The story relates that listening to it is an experience similar to torture as demonstrated when Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect are forced to listen to the poetry prior to being thrown out of an airlock.
