As far as I know the FW mars pattern warhound are painted as a Legio Ignatum titan (since they are actually located on mars ) But yeah the Legio metallica is very similar, as far as I know the only difference are the insignia (obviously) and the hazard stripes are white instead of yellow

Looking forward to seeing more paint on these as I've followed this thread for a while now.

The light of the Omnissiah shines especially bright on your forge my fellow adept.

TTG BUNKER - The parts are just simple pipe fittings. Just get a valve to stop the air flow from the compressor/let air out when there's no hose connected and a pressure pot. There's a little regulator on there as well to limit the air flow and prevent violent explosion.

Aliaricthenerd - Thanks!

mindfield - Thanks! One of my friends started building a warhound using the same plans I did but he stopped after priming his (about the time I took a long break).

Da Big Mek - Thanks!

BlutEisenRegel - Thanks!

agroszkiewicz - Thanks!

Ghiest1 - Thanks!

inzeos - I'm afraid I don't understand your question. I am priming with the airbrush and then painting over that.

Zeke 169 - Thanks!

the damned artificer - Thanks! The Legio Ignatum's colors are the blue scheme that you see on both the reaver and the other mars pattern warhound that forgeworld has done. The old picture from the titan legions book has this as the color scheme for Metalica.

The other 3 titans have had their screen boxes assembled and all 4 have now been sanded.
We've been experimenting with ways to display the titan's names and we've been coming up with a couple of different things. The first 2 we weren't happy with which was painting our vinyl letters and then sticking them down. The paint either didn't dry (Vallejo's model Air Gold) or came off the second the transfer paper touched it (S&J Gold). We'll be trying a gold vinyl next, however it is not a gold foil look so we saved it till last.

We'll probably have to slow down on uploads for a while as I'm down to the last 3 weeks of class.

There are several warhound scratchbuilds already, but this is by far the most consistent in design. Good job Foda.

I always liked the War Griffons Titan Legion, they had an awesome 2 page spread in White Dwarf 120 that gave detailed colourings and markings. Much better than fw have done it, they kind of looked like the raptor legion blizzard suits.

Thats what i've been looking for a long time now, theres much fluff on the Legio's but not much illustrative evidence on their logos or markings, very hard to find I guess.

The blue forge world titans (the jackal class warhound and mars pattern reaver on their website) are both Legio Astorum (Warp runners) titans and are based on Lucius. The Legio Ignatum (Fire Wasps) are based on Mars, and are also the Legio that protected the imperial palace during the heresy and the siege of the palace. And they still guard the palace with a honorary segment of their standing force. Ignatum's colours are red and black with gold, and yellow hazzard stripes (like a wasp), this is the fluff, and they share the colours with Legio mettalica except from the stripes which are white on mettalica engines. I didn't make this up, it's actually part of the original fluff Here's a link to the banner sheet by Bell of lost souls, they based it on the original schemes and the insignia and scheme are from the old rulebooks.

Anyhow, I still love the work you're doing it's awe inspiring

Here's the one for Legio Ignatium that I seem to have forgotten in my last post http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2007/08/legio-ignatum-logo-sheet.html

Just google titan banners pdf or belloflostsouls titan banners and you'll get the rest they've made

mindfield - Thanks

Calibanite Lion - I think forgeworld was trying to tie their titans back to the battletech roots with some of their paint schemes.

mindfield - the amount of fluff for the legios is pathetic. Each one is more diverse than most marine chapters yet the best we've gotten is a list of color schemes and a couple of battle crys.

the damned artificer - Thanks. I'll be painting my warhounds like those reavers in the picture, what ever color scheme anyone wants to call it is up to them.

IHEARTLARGEBLASTTEMPLATES - Thanks!

Shellshocked - Thanks!

darefsky - Thanks!

The Dark Lord Mr Fluffy - Just try to printing out the templates and folding up a couple, that's where we started.

TTG BUNKER - Thanks!

mindfield - Well ask and you shall receive!

Thanks for waiting patiently while I finished up the semester. I will be graduating this Saturday from the University of North Texas, but y'all didn't come here to read about that y'all want to see titans!

We felt the sides of the wings were looking a little boring so we decided some more trim and a forgeworld symol was in order. They just fit!

Next up we used our vinyl cutter to cut some paint masks for the names. We experimented around with just using the letters, or just using the stencil, or even double stacking the letters, but in the end just spraying the S&J Gold we're going to be using on the trim looked the best.

As you can see we tried a few different fonts, we'll be going with the thicker of the 2.

definitely the larger of the fonts, remember it is a hulking beast and from the ground, your 28mm models should be able to tell what the call numbers are.

Sweet update - can't wait to see a pic of them all lined up again, with all the recent additions.

Zeke 169 - Thanks! The name plates will be put on last, but the larger fonts will look so much cooler.

perplexiti - Thanks! If you'll scroll down you'll get your wish

Well Sunday was a day of priming! The undersides of the titans all got 2 coats of Tamiya white primer.

Next my father built 4 awesome paint stands so the tops of the titans could be painted!

I hope to paint the top sides Monday night after I get back from a 16,500 point game a Spellbound and I are playing! I should have a write up and a bunch of pictures in the batrep section later this week.

mindfield - Thanks!

Well the 16,500 point game turned out to be a loss for me by 1 objective. I've got a 17,000 point game tomorrow against ChainAxe, hopefully it'll go a little differently since I'll be fighting a warhound instead of a reaver.

After the game against Spellbound I realized that I need to get these guys done more than ever! I'm really lacking in the D weapon department and finishing these guys will up my arsenal.

And to that end tonight I was able to get the tops primed!

It looks like the titans will require very little gap filling/putty work, which is always a good thing. There will be some sanding of course but just looking at these babies in all white is making me antsy!

Foda Bett, This is perhaps one of the best builds I've seen in these forums. If Forgeworld didn't already have the model in production, those casts would be worth solid gold.

Ryan Hyde - Not quite, there's still quite a lot of work to do. Its looking like there will be putty, sanding, more primer, more sanding and THEN hopefully we'll be able to put some colors down.

mindfield - Most of the insignias are just off normal GW sprues. The only special one being a couple of hand carved ones, the mechanicum symbol on the wings are from the forgeworld warhound.

crazypsyko666 - Thanks! Judging by the number of emails I still get per day I think they're still good

MeatShield - Thanks!

Last night we were able to put some of the first layers of Mr. Surfacer on some of the flaws.

While I admit putty work may not have been the most exciting thing on the planet you're really going to have your socks blown off now!

That's right folks we've finished sanding primer 1! So what does that mean? It's time for primer 2.

Yeah not really fist pump worthy but it is tiring.
