Hi Foda, have you used a 555 counter IC on your struct point counter circuit? Or a much simpler circuit? Havent't decided yet if I'd opt for a number LED instead or use a binary counter for the lights.

Dear god allmighty. Jist read the entire thread and this is by far the most awesome thing I have ever seen. I know this will probably just drown in the torrent of praise that is flowing your way but I really am at a lack of words. Your level of craftsmanship is stunning. I think I'd better stop thinking about your titans now or I might just pop a vein in my forehead.

Kudos.

mindfield - Thanks!

Calibanite Lion - Thanks! I've got the parts for 3 reavers and had planned on doing them or some thunderhawks next, but I'm afraid they've both been bumped so I can finish my stormhammer.

joshoftheforest - Thanks! I've been working on them since page 1!

wolfborn - Thanks!

Rabid Ferret - Thanks! I fielded them un-painted in a game a while ago but I wasn't really allowed to win so they kind of sucked. I'm hoping to get a real game with them at the beginning of the year if they're done.

mindfield - I'm afraid I haven't used a 555 counter. I still need to bug my father to draw a schematic for you on what we used.

Commander Cain - Thanks!

Ixias - Thanks!!

djdutton - Thanks!

Ok time for the long awaited paint update, trust me y'all aren't the only ones who are waiting for paint. We've been working on this thing for a while now and it's hard not to hurry up and finish just so I can field these things. However spending the time in the pre-paint stage is as important (if not more so in some cases) than the beginning work on a model.

So first up we're trying out a new airbrush the Iwata Ecllipse. I've never used a dual action brush, and the last time my father did it as in the 80s so we're both kind of new at it. It's something I've got to learn though or I won't be able to do the nice blending I want on the reds and caution stripes.

On the first engine I tried spraying the Testor's Buffing Metalizer right onto the resin. This worked ok until I tried buffing it and then it came off in spots. Luckily the paint is a near match to chain mail and I touched up the spots.

On the second engine I tried giving it 2 coats of the Metalizer, this worked a little better than 1 coat but not perfect. So for the final 2 I decided to prime them with the same Tamiya primer we're going to be using on the rest of the titans.

Spraying the engine

Some more spraying

One of the touched up ones

Of course since we had 2 titans up to this stage we decided to move forward and cut the screens for the top. You'll notice we added a cross bar piece to support the screen (in case anyone decides to touch it).

And the screen by itself.

Next up is putting the Metal down on the 2 primed engines, buffing them out and then washing all of the engines. After that they'll get masked off and it's time to prime these bad boys!

Moltar - Thanks... I think.

Cosmic - Thanks!

Brother Bartius - Thanks!

oadie - Thanks?

So after arriving home from my pre-Thanksgiving school day I managed to paint the last 2 engines. Then after a bit of a break to clear my head I was able to get all 4 of them washed.

After that we started gluing the screens down over the engines

And finally dad built the first box around the screen. We had originally thought that we wouldn't need this and the old box would work just fine, however moving the titans around (and the few games I played with them) caused the old boxes to basically disintegrate! So this new set up was created.

Ed_Bodger - Thanks!

Spudstabber - Thanks!

Rali - Thanks!

nickick - Thanks!

wolfshadow - Thanks! I don't know about "getting" an airbrush we have about 8 airbrushes but this is the first time I've used the Iwata brush. I've usually used a badger single action brush to do most of my base coats.

mindfield - I'm going to be painting them in a Legio Metallica. Much like the Forgeworld Mars pattern Warhound

The stripes usually go on "isolated" panels so carapace, leg armor, etc...

I've run out of the angle brackets dad used for the new screen box so hopefully the replacement from a different company will work. We'll have too see tonight.

Would you care to comment on how you made the vacuum table and pressure pot? A parts list would be very handy for this one. I have attempted several different devices to completely degas casting mediums and I have yet to achieve molds/casts this flawless. Any help would be much appreciated!
