Thanks for all the comments on the DP, I wasn't sure how to go about tackling the paint job but once I got stuck in it all came together.

I went and picked up a Rhino along with some Plague Marines and a corpse cart of which the parts will be split between two rhinos on the way back from work today.

My Warmill doors also arrived today which is perfect timing, I'm going to start work on the Tzeentch Rhino tonight ahead of schedule, I might even get a WIP shot for you depending if my battery on the camera lasts long enough, was in the red after doing the DP shots so you may have to wait for the batterys to charge.

Thanks Skalk. It was actually given to me by the kind people at LEGO, its a jet engine.

Here's some shots of the Thousand Sons Rhino I'm currently working on, The top hatch will be lit up by a blue LED like the World Eater Rhinos.

not sure if I'm liking the Chaos star on the front...

I'm having second thoughts as well......It all comes down to the paint job I think.

A few things while I'm painting my Thousand Sons Rhino.

I made a combi melta for my Vindicator which is below, I also done a tank pic of my Khorne Stuff as well while I was at it.





I also done a test for my Death Guard based on the same technique as GuitaRasmus

Its also probably my best picture to date as I was doing some pictures for ebay for my Girlfriend she set the lighting up etc and after I finished I quickly dropped this guy on the table to see what it would look like. Just means there's no problem with the camera just how I set stuff up to take pictures

How did you make the combi melta

I'm not sold on the icon on the front of the rhino either. I dont know maybe its this size but something just seems off.

Just spent the better half of my night reading all your P&M from page one and I am now up to speed...I have an idea to do torched wood on my WOC bases, any suggestions since you seem to have trees/logs down pat?

Hi Miss Dee its quite an easy one use half the twin linked bolter from the rhino sprue and then cut out the hand from a Blood Angel Infernus pistol ( I think thats what its called), it fits perfectly into place where the other half of the twin linked bolter would have gone.

Cheers Prototype_x painting is looking promising so far on it, I think the issue is that everything looks up front which distorts the overall feeling. I have a cunning plan to divert the eye slightly bringing back the focus to the middle of the rhino.

Welcome aboard, I'd do the trees either the same way as I've done them or with wire and green stuff. Painting wise I'll be doing a scorched tree for my heavy flamer base, my idea was to undercoat the tree black as normal then between the bark try and dry brush in some reds and then dry brush the trees grey then black. I was also going to use some ash pigments as well.

I think the icon has to go too, it looks like it fell off a building on to your rhino! It will look great with the warmill doors and the leds.

Nice! I love the pinkish colour of the plague marine's skin, suitably sick looking and a nice variation from the regular brown and green.

I have to agree that the Icon will take so much away from the rest of your painted Rhino.

Well this is how the Rhino looks at the moment with the skull icon on the front still.

Started doing rough highlights and yellow (which isn't going well). Most of the skull and rust is finished. After I've finished the highlights it will have a blue wash to blend in the highlights a bit.

Now My T Sons Vindicator is in the last shot for a comparison, the question is should I attempt doing the pearlescent finish again? Its a bit streaky due to being applied by brush but if I don't I'm not sure what to do to tie them together.

Thoughts please.

I am still with removing the Icon, and I would avoid the Pearl because it did not seem to give you good effect the last time you used it.

I think your painting alone does them justice.

Yeah I'll give the Pearl a miss this time, makes me wish I did the Vindi in a different way but then I had only just started painting again when I did that tank. There's quite a few things from the T Sons side I could do a lot better now.

Cheers it feels like I'm starting up my own garage, Still to come on the tank side this year is three Death Guard Rhinos, 3 Dark Wolves Razor Backs, Dark Wolves LR and a World Eaters LR. There may be a Dark Wolves Drop Pod as well. It feels like its going to be the year of the tank!

Rhino conversion- awesome!

LED installation and effect- awesome!

Huge monolithic Gothic Fleet-size Chaos Icon on front of Rhino- have to say I agree w/ everyone else. Looks like it belongs on a (large) Chaos Shrine. It's absolutely cool, don't get me wrong there, the modeling is excellent! The application is the only detracting issue I have.

Probably I'm the only one that really like the way the Icon looks on the rhino.
