Ok heres some near complete pics of the Thousand Sons Rhino just the turret bits to do.

I know most of you are not into the huge skull on the front so I hope you like the rest of it

Inspired I popped down to Maplin and bought some LEDs (Ultrabright white) to do some headlights for a Rhino!

I'm thinking the retro rhino for the pre heresy Death Guard.

Small update tonight here's a pic of the turrets for the Rhino, I have no idea what they should really be called hatches I suppose.



Also a picture of my (messy) work space currently being taken over by Plague Marines!



When the Rhino turret things are finished I'll post a shot of the 1750 point army I've been building up to for the tournament in a few weeks time.

Next one after that is in March but I have everything painted for that one already, it will be the sorceresses first time out.

The next target is an Escalation tournament in May which I need to paint the below for.

It might not seem much but I'll also be painting a third unit of plagues as well and building everything that I need for the event in July which will result in a lot of stuff to paint, more on that later.

Gir I am totally late to the party, but that daemon prince.. WOW. I can say honestly that is the most interesting DP conversion I've seen in a long time. Mega impressed, and the painting is absolutely stellar.

There's a mix in there, its actually three squads one finecast with twin plasma, and two Forge World both with two meltas.

Some more pics for you today first off the finished Thousand Sons Rhino now with weapons.









And now some army shots, first is the 1750 army I'm running in a few weeks time. Its a three god list led by a World Eater and Thousand Sons daemon prince.



The second is my 1500 army for March, which is again three god this time led by the Emperors Children Sorceress, I had to keep the size of the models in check for this one as I have to do a bit of walking to get to the place. Rather than just step out of the car and walk into the venue as per normal, I think people might find it a bit strange seeing me carrying my DP's on a tray through town lol



I'm off to start the Plague Marines now, papa Nurgle is calling...Oh the army shots are huge images you can click to enlarge them if you want.

I will say this much- I respect that you went with what you wanted even though it was contrary to popular opinion. I've done the same w/ my Death Guard more than once. Sometimes I go back and change things (for my own reasons) but mostly I stick with what I did. So you've got that going for it (as well as a striking paint job, it looks great!)

Here's the first of the Death Guard painted up, one down lots more to go hopefully they will be quicker to paint than my other marines so far which on average take 3 hours each.

That is very well done. I like the banner a lot. I love the FW models but have so many Plague Marines already that I can't justify getting even one more model.

Here's a new batch of Plague Marines that I finished today. The Sergeant that I started first is still being worked on as I'm painting different parts before glueing them to the model first.



The guy on the left is a tad shy, when I do the unit shot I'll give him a good talking too first!

And here's a close up of the Axe to show you the nice fresh blood/gore dripping off.



I've also undecorated the second unit ready for painting.

There wont be an update next weekend as I'll be at a tournament, I'll see if I can remember to take a few pics while I'm there.

It's called X Legion this one is at 1750 points (its in the UK on the Hampshire/Wiltshire border), I've been to a few of them and they are really good and the people friendly.

In fact the people behind it do five a year, I'm hoping to go to all of them this year. Plus an extra event next month.

A small tournament this weekend as usual I failed to get a pic from each game, but here what I do have.

Game 1 vs Grey Knights

This was actually one of the better games of the weekend for me, I think it must have been due to me not being tired. He had 2 units and a Strom Raven against my chaos hordes. I did make the mistake of charging a unit of berzerkers into the Grey Knight Terminators with Drago and got my ass handed to me. The Storm Raven came on behind the Rhinos in this pic with a unit of Paladins and a Librarian. I couldn't take out the Storm Raven but made mince meat out of the contents when they got out.

I did loose but was placed towards the middle in the rankings. All down here from now on.



Game 2 vs Space Wolves

Not in the below pic is his second LR which was immobilised and was basicly out of the battle as I stayed close to the other side of the table. This was annihilation and I was winning upto turn five and then Njal done some super powerful Lightning Thing and took out both a rhino and my Defiler at the start of the turn which gave him enough kill points to take the win. I really struggle vs AV14 I just don't have the weaponry to take it down.



Game 3 vs Imperial Guard

This was a disaster the mission was spearhead and he was going first with an artillery army. First turn I lost both of my Berzerkers transports. I never made it over half way across the board. It was ugly, the only thing I did all game was immobilise a Vendetta

Game 4 vs Blood Angels

My favourite game of the weekend. We both had close combat armys so met in the middle and thought it out. At the end of the game he had a single trooper left on an objective being contested by my Khornate Daemon prince standing on the other side in the middle of the table. A special mention must go to my defiler this game which was charged by a dread which failed to penetrate and my defiler ripped it apart. The game ended in a draw .



Game 5 vs Orks

Same table as above but I hadn't played Orks before I made the mistake of letting Snikrot and his boys charge my berzerkers taking out a whole unit. They were avenged by my terminator squad. It was a fun game though and I will be ready for Orks next time. I lost due to objectives but it was very close and I still had quite a few things left running round.

Game 6 vs Necrons

Bottom table for me this game lol I was up against a Necron wall with tuns of scarabs . I found out they don't like blast templates so the Defiler and Vindis cleared those up and I then sent the majority of my force via the right flank leaving the Defiler and two vinidis to keep the rest of his army busy. It worked a treat I lost 240 points to his 1000 odd, mission was annihilation giving me a win sending me way back up the rankings so you would never have known that I had hit the bottom table.

This is how the game ended



For the best painted army I didn't even get in the top five Its seems people like starkly painted armies which can be noticed easily from a table top level.

Back to painting Nurgle guys now

Sounds like lots of fun... long day though... 6 games? Or was it two days?

It was over two days, always drains me as I'm not used to standing up much due to sitting in front of a computer all day at work.

Another cool thing in the Blood Angel game was my Thousand Sons sorcerer nearly killing his chaplain in combat but he failed his warp test, I would have taken the victory if I had rolled under 10
