What is his lower half? I looked around but didn't see any Finecast models with those sort of legs.

Ghostflame - Too true I wish everyone was down the road for a game.

Dexter - I hope you don't bruise easily.

inmygravenimage - Not too much of a distraction from GK.....they play out with Inquisitors on a regular basis.

Neil - Cheers dude. I think you are being too kind about my GS.

Dex and Neil - No finecast on this one....The base model is FW's Plague Priest

Wow, PDH, that is flawless! Almost worth the fat guy strip tease Your GS work is incredible - love love love the tunic / flak, how did you manage that?! Everything is so smooth - so impressed! I love all the cabling too: Zinge's stuff by any chance? I find guitar string such a pain to work with...

Awesome! Though I still think his foot is the best part.

If you don't want those speakers on the end of his staff I will have them, would look great on my grot mega tank I am building

Sorry for my absence, I've got sucked in by Jagged Alliance BIA.
Anyway, back on topic: Great work, Peter! You've outdone yourself resculpting the whole torso, this has to be the most invasive conversion you've shown us so far. I don't know whether your already splendid gs-skills improved yet again, or whether you just get more daring, either way I like it.
I also like the understatement of his weaponry and I immediately recognized the bionic eye from the agents of the throne book, nice touch.

P.S. You still owe me a detailed analysis on Samarianne, drunkard!

I know I don't leave many posts here, but I'm always keeping an eye out. Iv got to say, every time I do take a look through your work I'm never disappointed. It all has such a great grim dark feel to it, exactly how I picture the 40k universe. Great work, keep it up!

Scarper - Nothing was worth the fat man strip tease.

The padded flak was pretty easy actually. Flat sheet of GS on the chest area then with a wet scalpel gently imprinted the GS th the diamond pattern. Did them all in the same direction and then the other. When it was dry I put the robe edges in place and cut off the excess flak vest. Does that make sense?

You cannot go wrong with Zinge. Great product and customer service. His weapons are cool but the wire wrapped cables are immense!

lone dirty dog - Go with your gut every time! Besides I am pretty sure a few pages back I said what I was making him out of (I might be wrong). Very good point if you don't ask you don't get.....I'm not going to use them so sure thing. PM me your address

inmygravenimage - Yeah I love fiddling with papa Nurgle's buboes

Vitruvian XVII - Cheers dude. That is the fun bit about converting. But then you know all about that... did you see your wizard!? You didn't well it is ace http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/275660-Adeptus%20Mechanicus%2C%20Archmagos%20Veneratus%2C%20Pimp%20My%20Wizard%2C%20Warhammer%2040%2C000.html

Baiyuan - Cheers buddy. Well it is rather invasive but it is always the case of using the models that inspire me/give me the image I'm after rather than the complicatedness of the conversion.

PS - I did comment on her when sober ....in the wizard thread. When are you building her doggy?

Hits_the_spot - Thank you. It has to be grim dark or its just not 40k. I just realised that I check your thread out too but don't leave m(any) comments. I think I have gotten into the bad habit of just going through my subscribed list.

I've been having fun with the priest this week. Almost done him as it happens. Need to do the ecclesiarchy corsesque, metallics, dirty up the purity seals and the bottom of the robes a bit.

Ecclesiarchy Priest Cecil Sonerhud

Totally inspired by the Priest Alcoves in the Emperor's Will. Not at all happy with the photographs. But third attempt and I felt these are the best I can do. Perhaps it is the white on white. The robes are dirty and messy but I am really happy with the dark/light areas. Had to sculpt the edging onto the bionic eye while painting and the area is so small that I think it is a little crude. My favourite part is the parchment that says Purge. The wooden placard Redeem is meant to be crude.... I am so happy with the tiny Faith on top. Oh and those things hanging from his waist at the back are vials of holy water.

What is even better is that he looks perfect next to the Brute, Crusader and the Mutie Killer. I was worried as he is so much lighter than the other. The only bit I don't like about the model is the club foot...but hey ho.

This has turned out great stop beating yourself up the face has turned out fantastic and has real depth the features just jump out at you.

It has that real beaten look to him like he has been dragged through the depths of hell and still come out kicking ass.

The redeem looks great on the side and brings the wood effect out at the same time, the detail is great the vile's the chequered pattern it has been put together well

The only down side is the foot I have to agree from the side profile, looks like some kind of support boot ….. But it well could be after all.

Overall great job and the contrast of colours, the whit with the red and just the splash of others is great, if I could do half the job you do I would be happy

Looks awesome mate...wasn't sold on his bionic eye in the WIP shots but all painted up, its a beaut!

I'd make his robes a tad dirtier at the bottom myself but thats your call...maybe he has a friendly nun to do his washing for him eh?

Excellent as usual.
I like the small range of colors you used. There could have been a little more contrast though, but then again I never have the balls to go for a small pallette.
I like the overall understatement on him, he looks like a humble servant of the throne, not too fancy, not too posh.
The only part I think draws too little attention is the small relic cabinet at his belt. That would have deserved a golden hinges and a pretty wood grain if you ask me.

neil101 - Cheers buddy.

LDD - Thanks...stop beating yourself up I've been hearing that a lot recently. Ah the checkers on the overflow pipe..I felt it needed a little extra colour. BTW I've not posted the speakers yet...but I've not forgotten.

Ghostflame - Ah the bionic eye. This project is pretty much a homage to the GW art department and JB so I'm really please with the bionic eye. But the rim was missing and adding that improved it imo. I'm gonna leave the base of the robe as is, since it is a dry dirt rather than wet dirt.

Imperial Monkey - Thank you, I shall try

inmygravenimage - The warding stave head was just perfect for an Ecclesiarchy Corsesque (which incidentally doesn't look a thing like a corseque). If you want to do corrosion nothing does it better than weathering powders...I've been well and truly converted.

Baiyuan - Glad he comes across as a humble imperial servant....that was my aim. The Inquisitor is hopefully going to be opulent and at odds with the rest of the current warband. In game terms that metal reliquary gives him 4 armour points to his crotch...no wood thank you. I'm going to add gold hinges though because that will add interest there, cheers.

(edit) Rogue Wolves - Cheers...well I just wanted those robed legs and oxygen tank....to turn into an exhaust.

So what just happened was, I stood up with such sudden force that my chair tipped over backwards. I violently pointed at my monitor over and over while yelling "YES! YES, THAT IS HOW IT'S DONE!" The ladyfriend gave me a strange look.

This guy is great. He's bursting with personality. One of the things I find hardest when painting faces is capturing their age. You've done an awesome job of making his skin look old and tired. Do you mind sharing your recipe? My absolute favorite part of this piece is the red ring under his eye. He looks so overwhelmed and weary, and yet his stance is still defiant. Really a beautiful piece. This will be in a museum one day, mark my words.
