@Ogryn - Thanks, for such a small face, I have to be sparing with how much highlighting I add to them.

@Git's - Thank you!

@LDP - Cheers!

Update: next Guardsman done, say hello to Mr. Shocked face.

I'd say you have a lucky friend! Nice looking gun fodder, I especially like the green, gives me an urge to paint DA!

Yes, your friend will be pleased. Do you do painting for money?

@Count - I know what you mean, I pulled out my DA force earlier in the week and seriously considered slapping more paint on them.... decided not now, I have far to much other stuff to do first.

@Ogryn - Fingers crossed he likes it, I don't paint for money, I do it for the love of painting

Update: IG comms done.

Wow... nice work! And I don't say that too often about guard.

Once again very crisp and clean and excellent job on the skin.

@Gits - Cheers Gits! there is still some part I'm not happy with with, however I have to keep pushing forward as there is still left to paint.

@Tipios - Thanks man, I did end up picking out a few details, not to much but enough to break up the sea of green.

@Moltar - Thank you! I guess Mr. Shocked face could be Mr. poopypants now?

@Miss Dee - Terrible face model imo, either that or it was my painting of his face

@LDP - He better or I wont offer to paint more of his stuff

Update: Commander done

Just so... pretty. In a good way.
...
Seriously, do eldar next.

Or DE, that way you get gribbly-ness of Tyranids too.

You know, it's too bad you can't play 40k under a huge magnifying glass over the table. Much of your wonderful work will get lost at arms length.

@Graven - haha, thanks man. I assume there is a bad pretty as well? It's looking more and more likely I will be delving into Eldar next. I've been playing DOW1 - Soulstorm doing the Eldar force and its pretty cool.

@Gits - I guess the pay off is that when they die you pick them up and weep that you killed such a lovely looking model?

Update: Last guy done. bit of a rush job but the cut off was today and I forgot about the top part to the banner and right royally screwed the pooch on it. still if my mate wants it fixed he knows where to find me.

I've tried another light box configuration, let me know what you think

Beautiful, crisp work on the banner. I like my guard a little grittier in general, and that got me wondering whether you'd though of trying a more weathered look in a force? Could be interesting for eldar - pretty yet shattered remnants maybe. New lightbox configuration quite even but seems to up the red end slightly - bit pinkish brown. Still gorgeous figs mind you.

I agree with the Graven, in we want to see weathering on next project

Btw, i "took inspiration" from your conversion beamer when painting mine, hope you dont mind! It was reallly hard to do actually, you make it look easy..

@Graven - Cheers man, I felt I rushed the banner a bit, such a large surface with only a few things going on with it. If I was to do it again I would have changed a few things. Over all good practice for my Paladin Standard bearer Terminator. Hopefully I can play around with the camera settings again and see if I can sort it out.

@Ogryn - Thanks! Fingers crossed I don't get burned out on all this painting.

@Miss Dee - Ah yes, that seems to the defining feature of Mr. Shockface

@Tipios - Weathering... check, Eldar will have that and hopefully some OSL to boot. How much glowy stuff do Eldar actually have?

@Vit - Mate I'm honored you'd use one of my ideas. your model looks quite impressive and its a shame you were 17 day's late getting it in. Still be proud its a cool model!

Update: Paladin Terminator number 3 underway! I figured I'd do a stage shot with one coat of Codex grey then do another with the second coat, hopefully you can see the difference

one coat

Two coats

I'm getting slower and slower and playing more and more computer games it seems. This is not good, Deus Ex and Dow1 - Soulstorm seem to have a hold on me, perhaps I will get quicker once I've clocked them. I'll still try to post daily updates as much as I can.

Thanks for reading.

Hah I hade a phase recently where the painting slowed and I just played Dark Crusade, you'll eventually make a balance of gaming-painting or something. The paladin looks great too

@LDP - True, fingers cross I can do a healthy mix, I still have flash backs to nights playing wow and how easy it was to sit infront of a computer screen and just move a mouse and hit a few keys.

@Arashi - Long time no see man! Thanks for popping in again, stoked your still around

Update: Paladin is still being chipped away at, almost finished all the body and the head, just need to do the swords and extreme highlights, should be finished this weekend games willing
