Oh wow! so many responses!

@LDP - Reading all these comments reminds me of a bit of text I read somewhere, not sure where I saw it or the specific wording, however it went kind of like this "There are some painters that look like they are putting paint sloppily in random places yet you won't see the over all view until the last flick of the brush" I wonder if I'm anything like that?

@Gits - The paladin head? A number of stages. Mould lines, White primer, Deneb Stone base, Devlan Mud wash, first coat of very thin Bleached Bone, repeat that last step about 3 more times, Highlight with Skull white on the edges.

@BC Scotti - Happy to help! let me know if you post your version of the Axe I'd be interested to see how you go

@Tipios - Cheers man, I wonder if doing OSL on some of the larger gems might be worth it? I have a model I'm going to try a bit of OSL on in the next week or so (gaming permitting) so stay tuned (co-incidentally, if anyone has a link to some good OSL tutorials I would be very grateful)

@BrianJC - Thanks Brian, I just couldn't stomach an army of silver men, Grey is much more up my alley

@Falco - Thank you!

@Jon Touchdown - Thanks for taking the time to check out the blog, hope you will stick around

@J.Coops - Cheers, I'm actually not sure where I start with the detail I think I made the choice when I started on this army I wanted it to be special, I believe that having those small details gives them all character.

Update, Paladin done.

@LDP - Thanks man, you hear back about how your models went on the weekends GD in Aussie yet? I'm hanging out hard to find out how it went.

Knightley, I have seen many amazing Grey Knight models, even ones from the Codex, but these are by far the best. I love your painting technique, and everything about your models.

@LDP - Cheers for the Link, some ok pictures taken on the first link, saw both of my guys with pictures and compared to the others I'm stoked to have had two of them go over to Oz to compete (some really really nicely painted models there)

@Graven - Cheers boss, I'm thinking about hiding these guys behind a building and shooting at anything in range (if I read the rules for them right hehe)

@Ogryn - Thanks man.

Update: slow and steady, far to much game playing in the last two days, however I have done the following

First coat of grey on this guy

And based, base colors and washed 6 servo skulls

Hopefully will get lots of time to paint this weekend. hopefully

@Gits - Cheers Gits, I know there are some people who are only after the finished product and aren't that keen to see WIP's but I figure if I can add something to the community, be either nice completed models or guides on how I do something, then we all grow.

@Flying Pooo - Thanks man, just another random thing I threw in to break up the sea of grey

@Ogryn - some pretty awesome favorite things, which CSI is your favorite?

Update: 2 more guys with first level grey painted on them

This guys grey is quite see through, the second coat should sort it right out.

I can't wait to fully paint this guy, of the group hes definitely my favorite

P.S Where's the helmet in the 2nd pic from? its not the BT one, is it from the ravenwing set or something?
